Haha I don’t know I just don’t vibe with Song Kang’s acting in anything except Navillera. I hope he continues to improve, he has many years ahead of him and some actors get much better after their military service 😅. 100% agree with Weak Hero Class 1. What a hidden gem!

I think Kim Yoo Jung was fine in this but Song Kang was absolutely atrocious! I second your opinion about Lee Do Hyun and Ra Mi Ran- they’re both a triumph in The Good Bad Mother. Lee Do Hyun is amazing in all his projects! Of all the younger actors from Song Kang’s age group, I also really liked Yeo Jin Goo in Beyond Evil and The Crowned Clown. Kim Min Jae is also proving to have a lot of potential after Dali and the Cocky Prince. Ryeoun in Twinkling Watermelon was very good. From the veterans, I would have to pick Namgoong Min in My Dearest, Lee Joon Gi in Moon Lovers, Lee Dong Wook in Strangers from Hell and Son Seok Gu in My Liberation Notes.
are you new to kdramas ?? Doubting song kang !! Suggest you to go and watch Navillera and Sweet Home
Lol Sweet Home is not exactly profound acting wise! And Navillera was probably Song Kang’s best role but the drama was a gem thanks to Park In Hwan, not SK. His acting has always been bland and awkward! From his contemporaries, I’d say he is a million light years behind Lee Do Hyun, Lee Jae Wook, Yeo Jin Goo etc.
I thought it was going to be way better than Doom at your service given this is a netflix drama but i guess not!
This is actually not a Netflix drama, It’s SBS (local cable network). Netflix only bought rights to stream it internationally. With that said, this drama lacks any substance and the airbrushing/make up is so distracting it’s hard to take anything seriously. Like you said- this is truly meant for teenagers who are ok spending 16 hrs on eye candy! Doom was not great but it was definitely more grown up lol
I completely agree. The writers seems to following a type of formula, which basically gives you a good number…
I tend to compare SK with Lee Do Hyun who is in the same age bracket but is miles ahead when it comes to acting. But not everyone is cut from the same cloth and SK has shown over the years that he can do well when given the right opportunity e.g. Navillera. It is totally possible that later episodes were filmed earlier which explains the awkward interactions between SK and KYJ in ep 12-13.

Unfortunately Song Kang is more looks less talent! He has improved over the years but there is still something missing. I feel like this contributes to the unnatural/performative romance along with some cliche writing. The story is definitely aimed to please younger audiences who may not know what a real relationship or chemistry looks like.
I was so excited to see Wi Ha Joon in a strong role in The Worst of Evil but here his character was a total letdown. Barely any screen time, he should be listed as a guest character.
And I respect your opinion! Everyone can have a different point of view. I just thought it was extra predictable and pacing was off. As for the bit of “romance”, it would be better without any!
I want to say the below because I am super annoyed by some of these inane comments here.I feel like idol actor…
I love this drama but I also struggled to finish Destined with you- I have no “special” feelings towards Rowoon nor do I know any of his music. This is purely based on my own drama preferences. And yes, idols have die hard fans (mostly teenagers) who will blindly support their favorite actors mostly for their swoonworthy looks, but what can you or I do about it? I’m in my late 30s and I also find it ridiculous but then I remember being young and having unrealistic crushes on celebrities so give people a break and ignore those comments!
At the end of the day MDL user ratings mean nothing in terms of how well the drama actually performed on network TV where ratings DO matter. Cheers!
