Jihan is such a red flag and idk how I feel about that..
Did you miss the whole of episode 6 and 7, in which JH clearly tried to surpress his feelings for the sake of his brother? He only fights back now because he assumed Dohan is lying to AJ?? Your level of media illiteracy is astounding, honestly 🤣🤣

Consort Hwang are from same clan as Queen Dowager. Current Queen was selected over Consort Hwang as the main wife…
Uiseong is an idiot, a very disrespectful brat as you put it, but also an idiot who's letting his mouth run unnecessarily, so he's not the type of wild card that you can't control. That brat is no match to granny. His mother is another story though, it's possible that she may betray granny down the line. But anyway, they are still safer bet for QD than the Queen, cause they have common interest (same clan) and there's no way Queen will listen to her.
I dont know about the King, we have to see more of him to know, we're still at ep 2, there's still a long way to go.

@Iam101 1. The king is her son, so she's got this generation covered, now she works for next one, lol.
2. Princes are her grandchildren, but they also have their own mother, don't they? In the end they are more likely to support their mother than their granny. Which is why QD wanted Consort Hwang to become Queen since they are from the same clan, but that didn't work out so she move on to make Uiseong the CP.
3. Women back then married for their family's benefit, not for themselves, so QD's working for long term longevity of her clan, making sure the next king also belong to them. Plus she still have longer to live, what if her son die now? She doesn't have a good relationship with the Queen, what if one her other sons ascends to the throne? Her fate will lie in Queen's hand essentially, she cannot let that happen, can she?
4. (This is just my interpretation) I think it's also about greed for power, once you get a taste of it, it's hard to let go. Queen Dowager wants to be on top, she can't have absolute power to herself if Queen is there with her 5 sons (1 is already a perfect Crown Prince). In other scenario, our Queen should be untouchable with her army of sons (5 is a lot), but I supposed she didn't have strong enough backing from her clan so QD still hold some power over her. QD did not try to get rid of her solely because the perfect CP is there (he's perfect so there's no reason the dethrone him), once he is gone, it's all fair game (cuz other 4 are full of flaws). That's why the QD starts to make her moves (create as much chaos as possible between the concubines and the princes by giving out the books). I'm sure her goal is to have Uiseong comes out on top. Eliminating the queens and her sons is certainly a nice bonus, too.

I don't understand the motivation of the Queen Dowager, just because the Crown Prince is sick with a disease that…
Consort Hwang are from same clan as Queen Dowager. Current Queen was selected over Consort Hwang as the main wife because the previous King didn't want Queen Dowager's clan to have too much power. That is why QD hates the current Queen and Consort Hwang/Prince Uiseong thinks Queen/Crown Prince's place are supposed to be theirs. QD and Consort Hwang are plotting to get rid of the Queen and her sons to "take back" Crown Prince title for Uiseong. That way they can make sure the next king belongs to their own clan and strengthen their clan's power.
