what the..
felt like the writers poorly disguised gore/torture fetish. the sexualisation of all the young boys was so bizarre, and like why were half of them kissing when they’d barely just met or were trying to kill each other??? genuinely felt like watching a soft dark web p*rno or something.the only saving grace of the whole mess was the cinematography as some of the shots were really beautiful and aesthetic, it’s just a shame it was wasted on well whatever the hell that was
( 10/10 the random penis chopping scene was funny tho like it was so goofy and unserious )

War’s performance was spot on
War and the children’s acting definitely carried this movie, the CGI was good too and the cinematography. However it was pretty chaotic at times, like what the hell were the zombies all about?? Could have done without that. Not to mention the main white guy’s acting was so bad, he was so flat and emotionless in scenes where most he definitely should have been very emotional. He really let the movie down at times which sucks.
This movie is a confusing ride. The concepts were awesome, but I think there were too many at once.

Controversial opinion
First of I’ll start by saying this is legit the first review I’ve ever written on here so it’s probably not gonna be great. My controversial opinion is, I liked the ending! Well, I didn’t like the fact he died, it was heartbreaking of course, but I liked the concept and emotions it evoked. The name of the series is ‘make our days count’ and it needed a reason for that. The ending shows that you never know when life could be over, you never know when your days could be over. So you have to make those days count. The ending was essentially needed so that the title had a meaning and a purpose. Yes it was painful, but a painful ending doesn’t mean it’s a bad ending.
Overall, the cast were incredible. They really knew how to pull on your heartstrings and their acting was so natural.
It’s a really sweet series overall, and I highly recommend. Just make sure you have tissues handy!
