So true! Only people who have watched older kdramas and movies will understand how much beauty standards have dramatically changed and changed for the worse. Imagine blurring skin pores hahaha

Exactly, totally agree! For me too, plot and writing are the most important elements for me (even if it's a chill romcom, you can still make it appealing and a bit different to other existing ones) and believe that the core purpose of filmmaking is storytelling more than anything else.

well if that's what u think, that's just sad. dramas and films do subconsciously influence beauty standards and adding filters just makes them damn unrealistic in a society ridden with unrealistic, plastic-surgery driven standards.
old kdramas and movies (and not even that old...im talking like 2007 era) weren't at all like this. they even had tanned females which is kinda unimaginable now.
also really dislike the strong use of face filters in the drama...i know its heavily used in dramas so this drama is no exception. u can see what i mean in eps 6 40:52, when the filter was off. there are several moments like these actually. but i find its use very disgusting and projects unrealistic standards on men, women and everyone.
also the editing is kinda shiet in this drama, like a person will have a different hairstyle in a second later in the exact same scene lmao
am i the only one who thinks this drama is mid at best? sure cast is super, super beautiful and good-looking and that's the only thing that's carrying the show. the story is flawed in so many ways, and it's mostly dumb (like i can name so many times the fl couldve been killed in the first few eps but ofc no there's romance happening so can't get in the way of that). the comedy feels kinda forced and it feels like cheap comedy. they apply so many typical kdrama tropes that it makes everything predictable and kinda boring
Since there were so many positive reviews, I wanted to shade on the negatives. I couldn't overlook the romanticisation of cheating (even if it's emotional) of both main leads. It started getting too slow and wishy-washy after episode 11. Though I love the actors and actresses, this show was just not it.
For me the drama was a bit slow and draggy. But it wasn't in a bad way. Maybe it was just me but I could guess the perpetrator/s miles ahead so it wasn't surprising to me when it was revealed. However, what made this drama were the actors, moreover the Hwang Shi Mok -Han Yeo Jin duo. Coming from having seen Prison Playbook, Yoon tugged all my heartstrings as well. Overall I give it a 8.5/10. :)
Concept is nice but I think the manga would do more justice. I strongly disliked Nao's naivety and her leeching off Akiyama. She didn't make it past the rounds by herself, it was all because of Akiyama. Only watched it for Akiyama - really charismatic. She did nothing so I don't know how the hell she thinks she can make such big decisions (like the team has to lose the game). I really hate characters like her who wait to be saved and don't appreciate the fact that there was an ACTUAL person who cared enough to do that. I give it 8 just because I like Akiyama. He did great! I like characters who actual use their intellect and wittiness not the opposite.
