Imo the screenwriters understood that although there are lots of love of HYD, but there are haters of HYD too.…
Yes, i just watched it. I agree with you, thyme's character development would be the only way to keep this drama afloat. I'm also curious about how they'll unravel the Evil mother part of the story. I hope there's some change bc almost all the versions was more or less the carboncopies. Personally, previous vers. Of hyd (esp. Korean) is kinda like your middle school crush who was below bare minimum but you smile (also cringe) at them bc they are so nostalgic. I dont hate it nor do i love it. I really can't wait for the future episodes. One ep per week is brutal eventho i know everything about the plot

every mild spoiler
I have watched all the vers of HYD but this version surprised me with how Thyme kinda accepted the fact that gorya is in love with Ren instead of throwing tantrums and acting like typical hyd ml. although I know thyme acknowledging and respecting gorya's feeling doesn't stop him from "taking" her on dates but it was refreshing to watch it. he also says "gorya's feeling is her business, dont make her uncomfortable with the questions", i was like wow that's an upgrade.
Also great article, much love <3
