From the teaser for the show I don't think she started the marriage hating him, something must have happened along the way after the whole sending her daughter away for being the "Barefoot Ghost" fiasco which I'm assuming she must have guessed the concubine had a hand in. Plus when she raged in EP 2 she brings up her family's death, so that's kind of where that guess stemmed from.
I saw someone had a question about who is whose son and I just want to clarify, There's no way ML can be Pei Dafu's son. The age doesn't add up based on the info we have since Pei Dafu's son is supposed to be in his 40s. ML is in his 20s so yh not him.
And yes he IS adopted and we have no info about his biological family. He was adopted into the Fu family hence Fu Yunxi is his name.
I feel like a lot of people are misunderstanding some things about today's episode.
FL's mother randomly saw those shoe prints and decided to investigate two years ago, only to find that there was a passageway leading to Pei Dafu's mansion and while trying to get her facts right, Chen Momo confirms that the shoe prints matched the patriarch's.
She's hated him, and this part is all guesswork from our part, because he's related to her family's massacre. Now if she only came to this conclusion after seeing the shoe prints is left to be confirmed.
I'm guessing she tries to investigate him and finds out that he was conducting shady dealings under the guise of sending stuff to the daughter and in a bid to protect her daughter, she probably sends word to the adoptive parents to change her daughter's last name to theirs.
I don't think the name change was initiated by the father because did you see the relief on mama's face when Yuwen Bobo didn't read out her name? I guess that was past of the things he went to Danzhou to get confirmation on.
Anyways finding the shoe prints led to finding the passageway led to finding out husband was doing illegal shit led to her investigating what was up led to her finding out he was involved in her family's death which finally led to her loathing him and planning the family's downfall only for her daughter to decide to come back to the capital hence the aggression she showed her, because she's desperate to get her child our of that mess.
Bottom line is I don't think she's trying to frame him exactly, she's just making use of the info she has to exact her revenge.
