Title Tokyo in April Is... Spoiler
and in the story it was forced......... holy damn fuck i had no words. everyone is giving the pass to this bc…
I think maybe some of the context is missing. There wasn't actually rape - Ren told the adults he forced Kazuma to have sex with him so Kazuma wouldn't be in trouble (and that Ren thought Kazuma was straight). But it was consensual.

Kazuma said that the reason he was crying was because he was sad that Ren's first time had to be in a musty love motel.

I don't know if it was different in the manga, I haven't read it.

I can't believe what I just saw... Literal CHILDREN played intimate scene and talked about 18+ things. The actors…
I might have missed something in one of the scenes, but the most the children actors did was hold hands and hug/comfort eachother (shirtless) on camera.

So while the characters had an intimate scene, the child actors didn't.

And I want to point out that they are both 15 which is older than Japan's age of consent (in 2023 it changed from 13 to 16). I want to be clear, I think 15 is still a child, and I do not support children reading adult-themed content. But this wasn't that.

Did we watch the same series? The leads had good chemistry and the plot touched on important serious topics. I…
I'm not here to say that they did the best by his character but I think the comment about him getting beaten up by a smaller man maybe over simplifies what happened in that scene.

Just before that scene, we learned he couldn't have sex because he would hyperventilate - even with people he was close to. I took it as he wasn't acting that way because he was hurt, but rather because he was hyperventilating or having anxiety/panic.
