I enjoyed this but that ending was pretty safe and underwhelming. The fight scenes weren't bad even though lee joon gi doesn't look strong or like he could take a punch. As far as the romance goes it feels like story padding or just being there in the background but the leads have good enough chemistry if the romance was explored more.
overall a good drama, would of been a great one with an exciting climax.
Would like to add my 2 bits here. The superstrong ratings and public love for this show is quite heavy and the…
you make good points I respect your opinion. To be honest gender bender drama's suck, any sense of the comedy feels forced and cringy. It might be a landmark achievement for the cast but it doesn't help that they are forgettable in this.
Kdramas might have not been able to recreate the feel of this but I don't see that as a bad thing plus it has the boys over flower treatment of un-necessery remakes or "cash grabs" so to say.
Shen yue was good in ALSB, so it will be interesting to see how she does in this.
That being said this is just another adaption, remake, country variation or whatever that will be put on a pedestal. Maybe the baby faced boy band blazer wearing f4 keep the female viewers salivating but same repacked story is getting old.
The original drama wasn't amazing but after watching the movie it just feels like deja vu but with a new cast in their 30's and the same male lead. I didn't feel much chemistry between the leads in both the movie or the drama so nothing new there. I think with a different cast and some tweaks to the story it could of been better.
Tokyo bandwagon and buzzer beat are the best of this list. Kamiya Naoki gets cast in some dramas and they are a train wreck and not even the romance can save it. Pride tops buzzer beat though in terms of sports/romance dramas.
From 5 to 9 is a horribly overrated drama and good morning call felt like hard work to get through, both have quite vanilla romances and leads lacking in chemistry.
Is Ji Chang Wook wearing white make up and guy liner? he looks pale and sick. He's a solid actor in all his Korean work but in this Chinese drama he doesn't fit at all and the dub kills it. I gather most people will watch it because of Ji Chang but he can't save this train wreck of a drama.
I must say It's bad, like really bad, though I don't think I'm It's demographic since I'm a straight guy with zero Interest In eying up pretty boy Korean guys. To be honest the story is forgettable and predictable, bad cast and acting and just a cringe worthy experience. I gather this drama is just an excuse for girls to have some eye candy with a bad story slapped on top.
I know I'm going against the majority here but this drama sucked. Forgettable cast (minus the female lead), bland story and acting, boring romance. I honestly didn't feel the chemistry between the leads. Everyone has an opinion and taste in drama but this one feels oversold in the reviews.
I still don't get why people say this drama is amazing. Basic plot (if you could say it really had one), vanilla romance, lead male and female don't scream 'chemistry'. Certain reviews and comments speak of this drama like It's full of depth but most of the time you see sports, eating scenes and a splash of cheesy romance. I found it watchable but the 9.0 rating it holds on here is a bit much.
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is overrated, the romance is vanilla at best, zero passion or chemistry. Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk aren't a convincing couple.

p.s yet again ending still sucks.
