I have seen it and really *honestly* liked it.
BECAUSE Ella does a convincing job as a guy (and once you get over her exaggerated acting, because of her) This version is more of a comendy than a romance anyway, and in that regard Ella does a really good job. I can't count the number of times I rofl-ed because her reactions were too hilarious and spontaneous.
BECAUSE of Jiro Wang (who refuses eye candy that so readily presents itself?)
BECAUSE it is not a remake. They had a lot of unique ideas and approaches in this one that you don't find in the other versions.
Zuo Yi Quan is a bit of a softie, but the different approach he uses to portray the character is enjoyable.
Thanks for making this article. I feel the t version of HK is highly underrated and too easily written off by lovers of the j version. (Because frankly the K version is hardly worth talking about)

I am not a fan of Park Shi Hoo so I avoided this drama for quite some time. But now I've started it and although…
I do not dare to have an opinion about historical accuracy, because frankly I am very ignorant of the historical events that underly saeguk dramas (except maybe for being able to tell the difference between periods). I can only comment on my subjective opinion. And I did not feel engaged in the ongoings of the story. Whether it was lack of acting skill or mediocre script writing or a combination of both I can't even remember anymore. I only remember that other than the romance there wasn't much worth watching in the drama. Feel free to have a different opinion :)
It's been on my list for ages. This is a brilliant reminder, that I should start it now ^^

You should really do it. Some parts are a little exaggerated but the main couple is def worth the watch! I always watch it when I am down and it never fails to make me laugh. I think the two main leads just pull it off. Hehe ;)

Thanks for accepting :)
I checked out your list, have you ever considered watching Kimi wa petto? I can highly recommend it ^^
the Gastrointestinal Disorders must be a cultural thing. I don't find them funny, nor do I enjoy watching a serious actor on the toilet for several minutes. I have yet to understand why directors include such scenes.
Very pretty drama. Too bad Ha Ji Won looks as believable pretending to be a man than she would pretending to be…
True enough, but out of all the gender benders, I only ever saw one where the female was convincingly pretending to be a man (T version of Hana Kimi).
They never fool anyone, but I like it nonethesame.
Haven't watched a drama this frustrating in some time--
Though I find that the actors were well chosen and the plot was good and the script well written, I just wanted to see the end of it. Always this suspense in the love story, never really satisfying. I hate that. Apart from the fact that Lee Yong Guk is eye-candy, his acting was quite good. Better by far as some other eye-cady driven dramas. And usually the young actors potential is brought forth to the most favourable extent when the work with 'older' females. But really, this one was so frustrating.
Thanks for making this list! Many genres are often over-looked in the pop culture of rom-coms featuring idols. This bring a fresh wind and new perspective <3
Though, I myself am not a horror-person!
hm that last bit came out wrong... XD
