I’ve been wondering today whether the anthology is worth watching and I came across your comments on this one
I want to say something that’s important to me
I did not watch the show but one thing is certain is that if you think romance is all roses, you’re mistaken
Obsession, toxicity, sexual assaults, etc., are a thing so what’s the point of creating such shows if it’s just going to be a veil?
I understand how uncomfortable it is but isn’t it also the point?
What matters is that it’s powerful

I feel what you’re talking about. I just struggle less to put aside Kang’s lack of reaction towards Shin’s strange introduction because I don’t fully understand Korean people and sometimes I can’t help but see them act weirdly so I just assume sometimes people have different perspective and simply react or act differently 🤷🏼‍♂️

I understand that you didn’t like the show, which is totally fine.
However, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you what you said about the actors not having chemistry contrary to what I perceived as the contrary.
Having watched several other BLs, I felt their interactions weren’t awkward whatsoever.
What made you think otherwise?

Many things are useless in this show imo

If you are against negativity then you refuse other people’s viewpoints which is problematic since MDL is especially here to allow us and express ourselves about our thoughts and feelings on TV shows. I’m certainly not going to prevent myself from reviewing based on my perspective just because other people don’t agree with it, or else nobody should comment at all!

This is most likely a reality… However I don’t think funding is the problem here; the screenwriting is. They could’ve gone so much farther with the interactions between the characters. They’re not that boring in the end but the development is too shallow. I’m mostly here to enjoy some gay stuff, you know, and without that much budget you ought to rely on such things as conveying emotions, tensions and intimacy, but we don’t even get to have that. If you’re filming a 3 hours BL, you might as well make it intense.

Too flat. No character development nor even romance. What kind of evolution will be worth watching in barely an hour left before the end? There’s no spark, you know. Everyone is playing their roles alright but the plot is simply nowhere near up to par. That’s too bad because it started well.

However, I think people are way too generous when it comes to rating. 8 is an excellente grade! Which I don’t think this show deserves to be honest, compared to every other show. If I had to grade it at this point, I’d give it something like 13 or 14/20.

Which is a bad idea. You can’t always tell whether a show is worth watching halfway through. Sometimes the beginning isn’t representative of the show once finished. If someone doesn’t like the beginning, they’ll obviously write a review that wouldn’t make people want to watch the series whereas they could enjoy it in the end. It happened to me before. I’ve watched TV shows I thought were bad but enjoyed a portion thereof towards the end; which I’d have never known if I hadn’t watched it despite the beginning being described as bad. The reciprocal is true as well.
