You have to think about time and budget, it enables them to put things on screen that would cost a fortune. and lets face it GGI which sometimes can be badly done has been with us for years.
I would rather they spent money on the script and paying actors well, and use physical effects for close up work.
When you look back on old movies, and even up to the 2000's we have lost so much already because extras cost money so they cut down on supporting artists that help provide authenticity for the scene and is without the use of AI.
I think cost cutting makes AI inevitable, for speed of production, because they have to fill so much screen time, but a lot of revenue comes from actors promoting films and products because of who they are, unless they send out a robot.

I actually thought the AI for that part of a FOL was well done, most films and drama use a lot of green screen. You want it to look like a $1m but haven't got the time of the money to spend doing that realistically without physical risks.

The reason why a lot of dramas are set in offices, hotels and schools as they can find locations that cheaper to film in, but it restricts story lines, that is why the same locations and sets are used repeatedly.

I enjoyed it but it was not as sold.
I know the production company has a target market and they probably go it just right for that market , but it was made not to ruffle feathers . At least they are out of school and growing up, but it had the over used cooking in the kitchen when for every couple I know they cook in shifts and the worktop is a boundary no one should cross when someone is has staked a claim.

I am sure the relationship was not planned but Itt and Yok could work together inside the company and to get trust you play along to a certain degree. and make friends with the boss. I think he knew about Ing's sexual history, I am sure Itt would have filled him in, but probably though he could manage the situation better than he did. He got cold feet when he thought it would affect his family/social life, there was only so far he would go.
Does he see the relationship as romantic, probably not, a trade or price to pay to gain Ing's trust, convenient but not essential. As long as it does not disturb the rest of his life, just a passing experience.

I haven't read the book so this is based on what i have seen.
I think Yok went in to this with one intention motivated by Itt , sounded good in theory but it didn't know what it would mean to him emotionally and has to confront his feeling and his life. I do not think he was that angry with Ing, perhaps annoyed that he out manipulated him, I think he more angry with himself and he has to direct that anger some where.
I always think as young men as young bullocks, they spend their time eating, butting heads, play fighting, and sometimes it ends up as proper fight with injuries.
TBH in degrees of toxic you only have to read the news and it pretty tame unfortunately, and where money is involved common place.
Yok was Itts surrogate in all of this, with out him this probably would not have happened, or not in this way, he is a proper sh!t.

I used to read a lot of classic sifi, and the idea that everything has to be explained down to the last detail is pretty much unrealistic because there is so much we have accepted in life now and in the past based on no real understanding and as we gain more knowledge understanding changes.

For 10 eps, it packed a whole lot of ideas in, and from my own experience I meet people who have little knowledge of how their own body works, down to drawing a diagram and that is with the resources of the internet, they accept what they are given without question.
And them there is the POV that knowing the biology of a rose, does that make it more or less beautiful, but we know the rose will wither and die so we have to appreciate while we can.
I think good story telling leaves space for ideas so you can think different perspectives, and why do some people survive and perhaps remake their lives and others are stuck living over and over past trauma.
Yes there could have been more eps, but having listened to how the writer of Slow Horse describes his writing of a series, like an extended film for 6 eps a series. There will be gaps that could be filled in but having the filler would have allowed less time for the characters so we understood them. In most of our interactions in life we are only small about of information about what is going on, and a lot of what you are told is only one perceptive, and you have to piece information together.

I liked the ideas behind this, that because you are seen as X you have to behave in a certain way and everything you do is interpretative through someone else's idea of your motives.
The person who has 'pretty privilege' and seen as 'normal' perhaps can not fully understand what it is like to be constantly defensive and on guard, so your always waiting for the worst to happen.
I think the you never really got to understand why they had a connection.

Watched as a couple and it kept us entertained to the end.

This was just going through the motions and ended up boring.

I think he actually not that good at it, and relies on the fact that people want him so he doesn't make an effort, and no has told him he is sh!t.

I think the main themes I took away were hope and fate. Fate connected two people trying to solve their problem and one met someone they gave hope to and could move on and the other met someone who could see no way out.
Getting older means that eventually most perhaps even all who knew you will be gone, how do you keep remaking your life when you are just tired of the effort. Ken perhaps learnt again to live for what we have now, seeing the world a new like when you see a baby smile fascinated by their fingers, or the wonder and exciment of Christmas day through a child's eyes, and you feel blessed.

Can not really fault this, but if you are looking for a sweet sugary love story perhaps not for everyone.
Had to class what it is , a phycological thriller, horror story with a dose of humour or a comment of mortality,living well, and fate.
Great production values and acting, and yes it does resort to the cliche that the dark is unsettling when often what we should fear hides in clear plain sight.
Some people will not like the end but most of life is not clear cut tied up with a bow happy ever after.

Lovely, but over stretched.
There is a who done it and why, but it is more of an elegy to a past life, and why people became who they are.
The acting is my favourite sort, being a character and the performance of Fan Wei is subtle but astounding. The ageing make up for the actors was not over done and the observations on ageing were often funny and well as touching. With luck your enemies will be defeated by their prostate.
There is such attention to detail setting dressing where things change but do not change, so the interiors all look used and lived in.
The cinematography makes you want to see it on a bigger screen,
What I didn't like was the bread crumbs story telling, combined with the constant time shifts made it sometimes frustrating and the end its not really the important part IMO.

Not as good as the Season 1, I love the characters but after two years it relies on the trope that one male lead does not talk about how he feels and seem not to understand how his partner feels about the ex's popping up and just leaves him hanging.
Now I know men are often emotionally constipated, I am married to one but not one question, and not one serious conversation about boundaries. The previous season you could explain that with getting to know each other, but after living together you would want more information.

I also have a problem of how the character was played in college, somehow smiley as if he is about twelve and yet, at school and later on he lives behind a mask. I think that section devalued the character building..

Watched as a couple and we both thought it was good.
Not an easy watch because it tackles difficult subjects, just because something is possible and you have the money to pay is it the right thing for medical staff to carry out these procedures, and perhaps profit can overrule medical ethics. The patient can soon become prey.
I have worked in healthcare and from my experience most HCP would have the female leads attitude of doing what is best for the patient long term.
The plot worked for me because it touched on nature v nurture, what skills are passed down and the mother daughter dynamic was also IMO was very true to life, because you can love someone but still be very angry with their choices.
My picky medical side could fault some things, but it was basically OK. The main thing I found off putting was the over done make up, I know why they did it but it was over done.

I worked in MH and at one point in a prison, I also unfortunately worked with a sociopath, so you get used to seeing patterns.
I am talking about the character as presented.
She was fifteen when her parents made the match, and neither her or the ML had any control over the situation, they hadn't even met.
I presume if things had gone well she would have accept the match because her parents had arranged it as a dutiful daughter. She does not at any point blame her parents for the events that happened
She had gone through severe trauma had to hide her true identity and then spent the rest of her life trying to create the safety that was lost of her childhood, and take control of her life.
When you look closely most of what she does is to make a 'family' when people leave even if she has helped them she is often unsettled and then covers it up. She is smart she makes connections, but usually the benefit is mainly for her. She is aware that getting people do things for her is about merit not money, they have to want to help her.
The slap at the wedding, she had all day to stew over it and perhaps it is the only time she shows her frustration, that she had been out smarted, but she would have been calculating the benefits.
At no point later on does she try and divorce him and go off an be independent, or just disappear because it suits her, she is not trapped.
Her husband is perhaps looking for someone as competent as his mother who causes no trouble. He never blames his family for his marriage, his grandfather has taught him the realities of life, and what you need to do to protect the family, even if it means killing the grand daughter. He in some respects is more trapped because he is well aware the decisions he makes could lead to the death of the whole family if it is a wrong one. He has no siblings or nephews shown in the drama who can take on that role, but he never complains and he unrealistically never takes a concubine, because sons are not just for his benefit, perhaps he didn't want the infighting. Drugging her to put her on the ship is just avoiding a household drama, and protecting her from being bullied. She is not stupid he calculating brain would have known it was really a better choice, but s he had out smarted her again.
Its a very one sided story because it shows only the restraint of women but not the pressures put on men that drive their motivation actions.
Perhaps in this the grandfather is the only one who explains the realities of life then.
The drama in engaging and has great production values, but really it doesn't stand much scrutiny

Its not surprising he died young because men usually had lives that their work caused illness and death, and women if they survived child birth lived longer.

Yes is the imagination of the writer, but they only show the reality as they see it for the females of the story not the males, but how they treat women is based on the circumstance they live in.
In the past women and children died young, if you lived past five years and had a good diet you were old at thirty five, so the chances to reproduce were short, and the family unit was health and social care, for men and women.
You said I didn't enjoy it, some parts not so much, mainly the depiction of the FL, which seemed to suggest she a paragon of virtue, where I perhaps saw her as emotionally manipulative. She wanted to score points and the ML was made the perfect victim, she had been powerless so it was her chance to have some power. She knew him well enough to know he wouldn't hurt her.
I always think it is easy to be nice to people you like, a true test is how you treat people you do not like, and she was just spiteful in the end. When she cried as a wife I always thought is that because you are likely to lose status?
The fact that the leading actor managed not to make the character look like a weakling shows his skill.
My favourite scene the beach fight, which showed desperation and the human cost close up.
Like I said the end picture only shows half of what made that life possible, the sweat and lives of other humans. It seems perfect, I suppose it it is supposed that they had gained choices, but they were a very privileged elite, nothing changes really.

I started off really liking this, I like how the plot intertwined and all the characters seemed well fleshed out, and although it wasn't realistic it was looked more realistic than most of this genre.
As it went along I became more annoyed because although I understood the male characters behaved the way they did, if you have looked at a the history of most cultures and even some to day, women were treated almost as livestock and they had little rights of there own so their own pre 20thC ,the female lead character to me became more unbelievable and hard to sympathise with.
She became the sort of person I would avoid at any cost, and there seemed to be little character development. At the start I put down her behaviour to childhood trauma, fear and resentment, leading to an almost wooden personality, that performs a smile while calculating the odds. By the end I thought she was a very spoilt b!tch, because she had in material terms just about everything she wanted, but she still could no accept that she was privileged and had choices that most women of that time did not have, and most of what she at achieved from a man who she seemed not to value, and the patronage of men.
The huge hole in the plot for me is in that period is he would have had children outside the marriage, because in feudal systems a male line usually meant continuity and stability.

At the end her world was shown as a group of women posed as in a picture, but the structure that allows them to live that life is literally hidden from view, which was made possible by men rich and poor and other less privileged women. If they lived outside that bubble without the protection of men their choices would be gone, and men gave their lives to protect them.
I actually character wise had more sympathy for the women who were seen as the villains because although they had had been disadvantaged and abused in different ways they made their way on mainly their own wits. I wonder how the FL would have faired if she had not become the beloved wife.

I loved so much about this, production ,casting, music and a story that feels it could be real and then they blew it with a totally unbelievable last episode.
Obviously made on a small budget, and they cut corners at the end perhaps where they should a put a few more fight scenes, or least an explosion even if was CGI or AI.

C drama and a lot of films have always used a lot of post editing fix's and clean up, so I think AI
if it is cheaper has it's uses. It could even lead to more chances for writers to get things produced.
Using AI actors and writers will probably lead to generic slop, because up can spot the same use of words and humans are imperfectly perfect and that is what makes our actions individual and helps an audience connect to the story.
