I agree with your review! This show, even now when it's been a while since I've finished it, still irks me. I feel like Liu Yuning and Li Yitong had such wonderful chemistry which was wasted with the ridiculous plot points. One would assume that with a character who knows what's happening in advance, she would be much quicker on her feet once she realises that her actions are affecting the plot. They even have her make that comment a few times, yet it goes nowhere. She continues to act in accordance with the original plot.
In the end, I kept waiting for a big emotional scene where she finally confess her feelings to Nan Heng (since most of the scenes where we see her actually caring whether he lives or dies he seems to be unconscious??), and it never came. That in turn left me feeling like the romance is not quite believable.
