Title Imperfect Us Spoiler
Sneak peek: https://www.instagram.com/imperfect_us_2023/

CHIEN Ching-fen (played by Ariel Lin) realizes that her life has become a dull routine because she can’t find another goal. The goals she set for herself — a house, a car, a son, and a good husband (played by Mike He) — have been achieved after enduring endless suffering. What will her next goal be? As she ponders this, Chien Ching-fen laughs because she recognizes that, to experience a fleeting moment of happiness upon achieving our goals, we subject ourselves to suffering repeatedly. Could it be that we’ve misunderstood ourselves? We want to be happy, but perhaps we genuinely cherish the suffering.

CHIEN Ching-fen realizes she must seek out more suffering for her next source of happiness. As a result, she recalls her love rival, Rebecca (played by Tiffany Hsu), whom she defeated. How is Rebecca doing now? Does she lead an exciting life? Does my husband still love her? As expected, she is suffering. But does this suffering genuinely lead to happiness?

Interesting article! I'm currently watching Taiwanese dramas; so far, the common profession and also my favorite one are jobs in fashion industry (either CEO/owner/sales associate/marketing/fashion designer/merchandising), as seen on dramas "Between" & "Hello Again". Another job I like as well is to be an entrepreneur, like on dramas "Aim High" & "Go Fighting!" :)

Well-done drama! The first thing I noticed was the cast, who were all great! There were only a few actors I'm familiar with, like Mountain Kao (who plays as the funny Manager Ma), Cindy Chi (the actress playing as Ji Xin Ling; she's the actress who also starred in the BL series "History 3 & 4") & Hank Wang (who plays as Zhong Shi An, a famous basketball player who will fall in love with one of the drama's female character Zhou Ling Ling; also he was the lead actor in the BL drama "Be Loved In House"). The rest were all new, fresh faces on the screen to watch out for in Taiwan's entertainment industry. I look forward to them having successful careers and seeing them in future dramas or movies. Secondly, I watched this drama first this 2024 and I haven't watched its previous installments yet. Its first drama installment was "Youngsters On Fire", where its characters first met during high school. There were next installments after that. While on its most recent installment, "Go Fighting", the characters already finished school and worked together in their startup sports gaming company. I hope there are English subtitles in the previous installments. Thirdly, when I watched this drama on TVBS YouTube channel, the English subtitles were not that perfect, but still understandable, I truly appreciate the effort. Lastly, I liked the values that I can get and relate with this show, like in real life, there is a lot of competition when it comes to getting promotions at work; also as humans, we tend to make mistakes even at work; trust is one of the important factors in a relationship; and to have passion in your work or field of business that you're interested with. I really appreciate this drama!

A good mini drama led by Danson Tang, which he stars as an ordinary guy who was discovered through his good singing skills and was invited for a singing competition, but he faced a hurdle when he was told by his girlfriend to no longer join the competition.

On I Am Sorry, I Love You Feb 10, 2024
Title I Am Sorry, I Love You Spoiler
This drama has an interesting story about a watch who is possessed by a ghost, whose body of the ghost is still in coma at the hospital for 6 years already, and his adventures with his new friend, the repairman of the watch who can only see him, to uncover the mystery of his murder. I think the story is unbelievable, I haven't heard of real-life stories where the ghost of a vegetative body can still wander around. But I have read miracle stories online of people who woke up from coma for many years. One of the stories I've read online is about a patient who woke up from a coma, then she said she was able to "see heaven and hell" during the years she was in coma.

I liked the friendship displayed in this drama. The repairman was a geeky man who likes anime and nerdy stuff. The repairman's friend gave the watch to him to repair it, then the repairman was able to see the ghost. Turns out that the owner of the watch was the ghost's girlfriend, who can't move on about her boyfriend's murder 6 years ago. Only the repairman can see the ghost, others can't. There was also romance, which was about the ghost and his girlfriend, before the murder happened.

The drama was led by 3 top actors of their time. Jasper Liu looks cool and handsome as a ghost. While the geeky repairman was played by talented actor Ray Chang, whose works include the hit BL drama "We Best Love", I admire his versatility to play any kind of role. Lastly, the main female lead was actress Andrea Chen. I watched the drama this year 2024. She was popular after starring in the hit drama "In Time With You" last 2012. But Andrea was last seen in a drama last 2016. Reportedly, she needs to quit showbiz due to health issues (when I translated the news, it says cellulitis). After knowing it, I suddenly missed her, she was one of the top beautiful actresses in the 2010s, wish her the best of health always. The story, cast, music, and rewatch value of this drama are all good!

Title Hana Kimi Spoiler
2008 vs. 2024: I started watching Hana Kimi for the 1st time when I was still a high school junior student, the show was aired here in Philippines on free TV nationwide, last March 2008, at that time it was our summer break vacation. The show was also dubbed in our native language, Tagalog. Now this February 2024, I re-watched this show, after 15 years, with English subtitles online.

The 1st time I watched this show, I immediately had a crush on Wu Chun! After watching the 1st episode, I clearly remembered how funny & cute it was. While Ella was so perfect in her role as a girl disguised as a boy student, so are the other characters! I got hooked on this drama, it was so enjoyable, I never missed 1 episode on TV, I finished it from start to end. The OST was also memorable, sung by S.H.E., Fahrenheit, & Tank.

So, I just re-watched the drama after 15 years, now as an adult. I feel so old now, haha! My high school classmates are now married with kids, and here I am, still living like my younger self who watches dramas, but also trying to survive & earn money for myself & my family in an adult body, hehe.

What's the difference between before & now? Firstly, I had a crush on Wu Chun before, when I was still a teenager. But now, he's not my crush anymore, since he's now married and has children (plus he hid the fact about being married since 2004, very disappointing). The second difference is the actors before and now. Before, they were single and youthful. Now, Ella & Wu Chun are now married and have kids with their respective partners, only Jiro is the actor left who's single. The third difference is my choice of characters in the show. Before, because of my huge crush on Wu Chun, he was my fave character in the show, but it has changed now to Jiro's character, Xiu Yi, he was so funny and still handsome now! But what's the same is, even until now, the whole show is still funny, all the actors are perfectly suitable with their roles in this drama. Lastly, there was a difference between before & now with my overall impression, after watching the last episode. (***SPOILER AHEAD!!!***) If I clearly remember, I thought the ending was Ella's character, Rui Xi, and her friends, all knew about her identity as a girl and stopped her from leaving school. Now after re-watching, it turns out that Rui Xi woke up in a dream about her friends knowing about her identity, then she decides to leave, when her friends stop her from leaving school. Maybe I forgot about that scene when she was dreaming, because it was years ago, but good thing I re-watched it! I highly recommend this drama for its perfect story, OST, cast, and rewatch value! Thank you for reading!

On Hot Shot Feb 1, 2024
Title Hot Shot
I'm not any fan of sports, especially basketball, but "Hot Shot" is an underrated Asian drama that all both fans or not fans of basketball would like. It's a humble story of Pi Li University's school basketball team, "Pi Li Flaming Wolves", and their success story, whose team was previously not winning for decades. There's also romance, but it's not the drama's main theme, thank goodness.

The actors were all perfect, good-looking cast. Show Luo and Jerry Yan are both one of the most handsome, yet multi-talented Taiwanese singers & actors ever. Show sang the opening song, while Jerry sang the ending song, and both their songs have good melody, as well as the whole OST.

Some scenes in the drama were impossible or never happened in real life, like the basketball moves, they look like martial arts, but in fairness, they were well-executed flawlessly & perfectly. Also, girl power was also shown in this drama, like a female coach of a men's basketball team, & a good female basketball player who can play better with male players. In real life, women coaches are only seen in all-women basketball teams, and female players only play with each other. But after all, this drama is only fictional, but just like other Taiwanese dramas, what's admirable with them is how life-like they all are, even if the story is just a fairytale one. Overall, this was a funny yet inspiring, great drama of teamwork, passion for basketball & brotherhood!

I love everything about this drama! It's closest to reality and life itself, the stories are all relatable. Whoever would watch this in the next 15 years to come or in the future, would find this drama relevant & see how people lived during the era of COVID-19 pandemic. Watching each episode was like watching 10 romantic movies in one series, each episode has different point of view about love (LGBTQ+, married, young couple, etc.). The couples have such great chemistry, portrayed by the best newcomer & veteran Taiwanese actors in the industry, all combined. Here in this drama, Berant Zhu proved that not only he can be great as an action star, he can also be a great leading male actor for romantic stories like this. Berant & Gingle Wang are now top promising young actors in Taiwanese screen, I see both of them having a successful career ahead. Good job to everyone!
