In my opinion, this was a decent adaptation of the original anime. I tried watching a quick look of its anime version. I prefer the drama version more. I liked the cast! The Taiwanese cast were like starring in a Korean drama, or it could be vice versa. On this drama, I can't tell if Park Shin Hye is Korean or not, she can look like Taiwanese as well, her beauty is a classic Asian one. This was my first Park Shin Hye drama, she did a very good job, I was not disappointed in her and in this drama. The actors were very suitable in their roles. The story was cute and romantic.
Lesson I learned on this drama: love is blind. Why did I say it? The female lead, a single mother, falls in love with a guy who, although he helped her during her pregnancy, left her after the baby was born, then came back after 5 years. Also, Yao Yang & Hao Quan, the other 2 guy friends of the female lead, fell in love & stayed with her, even if they don't have a chance. Nevertheless, this drama has a good story about a friendship formed between Ya Ting, a pregnant, single mother, & 3 guys (Qi Tian, Hao Quan, & Yao Yang), who met through fate, their journey of helping resolve each other's issues together, & caring for Ya Ting's safe pregnancy.
It's a romantic story of two lovers, Sophie, a teacher, & William, a music school director, whom both had childhood memories in "Green Forest", a school located in the mountains. Sophie also had a childhood friend, Owen. While Sophie had an older sister named Susan, who was adopted by Sophie's parents & not Sophie's biological sister. Susan was not a good sibling, she was insecure & jealous of Sophie. All 4 of them grew up & reunited after many years. Owen has feelings for Sophie, while Susan likes William. Overall, kudos to this Taiwanese classic melodrama.
So emotionally heavy and intense! Trigger warning for everyone, it's too bloody and lots of graphic violence. The drama was well-made, it looks like something you may see in real life, but of course, the story is based on a fictional novel. I cried when the characters cry, I felt the characters' emotions, the actors were great, the entire cast and crew were excellent. The scenes in the drama when the killer was murdering and killing the victims were too gruesome. For me, I believe that even if evil still exist in this world, there's also karma from God that may happen whether in present life or next life, no matter what.

Baron Chen as male lead was a cool character, he plays as an aspiring action star but working as a stunt actor behind the scenes. In the drama, he had an actress girlfriend but unexpectedly he meets Megan Lai's character who is a die-hard fan of Lego Lee's character, who plays as a top celebrity, but his character is kinda mean on the way he treated people, however Lego played the character well, the acting is good. It's a romantic drama and the cast were great.
Brilliant drama, as well as the entire cast & crew! I admire the beauty of the main female lead actress, Alice Tseng, as well as the other actress, Lene Lai, who plays the female lead's friend. As always, no doubt about Danson Tang, he's an excellent actor that oozes charm & talent. At last, we get to see Sean Lee in a main lead role here, he's also very talented. I didn't expect that singer/actor Nylon Chen did his role very well here as a mute stepbrother. This drama also did well, being set in the 1960s-1980s, it's perfectly made. The OST opening & ending songs sung by Christine Fan & Nylon Chen were also good.

In her childhood, she grew up with her engineer father. Her father worked hard for them to live in a rich lifestyle in Taipei. Both of them faced many enemies, yet they treated those people with kindness. Also, they faced a lot of trials, but they always look on the positive side of life. One day, the 12-year-old Lin Jia Dong met a bully in school named Song Li Xing, but they became childhood friends later on. Sadly, Lin Jia Dong got separated with both her father & Song Li Xing, & her life changed. Her father advised her to go to Pingtung, in a rural place named Happy Village, where the seas were their livelihood. There, she lived a simple life with her real mother's family, her stepfather & step siblings. She also got to met her new friend, Chen Chun Ya, & other kind neighbors in that village. After many years, Lin Jia Dong & Song Li Xing got reunited, & also with her dad as well. She also met a man named Wan Hua, who was their family friend of her dad.
I liked that I learned many moral values in this drama, especially about treating people kindly. I feel heartbroken for Lin Jia Dong, whenever people try to hurt her, but despite of what they did, she remains calm & chose to do kindness, which is also the same trait as her father. She was raised well, especially by her father, even if she grew up in a broken family. Aside from family, there's also romance & friendship in this drama that makes it relevant to watch.
2018~2023: I finally finished watching this show today, May 12,2023, after 5 years, what a fun journey it has been!
The 1st time I watched this show was when I saw it on the now-defunct video website drama.net. Actually, the 1st episode I watched was season 2 already. I laughed so hard watching that episode. Because of curiosity, I researched and found out it was not the 1st episode of the show. So, I decided to start watching season 1 on KBS World's Youtube channel. They did not upload the 1st episode, the one they first uploaded was when Lee Seung Gi first joined the show. I tried to find the real 1st episode with English subtitles online but there's none online. I found and watched the raw video of the 1st episode, and I still laughed even without the English subtitles. It took me 5 years to watch it, because I can only manage to watch 1 episode once a week, as I binge-watch other dramas as well.
Each episode is very funny, it always make me laugh, I really enjoyed it, the entire show was a stress reliever. It's like being with friends who make you laugh. This was also my 1st ever Korean variety show, and I can say this is the best all-time variety show ever. It's also the longest show I have watched with 232 episodes, each episode is so worth it. I'm also amazed by the beauty of South Korea, how beautiful their country is, and I also got to discover interesting things you get to enjoy in their country. I can relate to Koreans as well, like how they respect elders and their warm hospitality towards others. I also learned how nationalistic Koreans are, how they love their country, and they show pride in their culture. I really appreciate everything God has made, they're all a masterpiece just like Himself.
This show has also built the television careers of hosts Kang Ho Dong, Lee Seu Geun, Lee Seung Gi, Eun Ji Won, Kim Jong Min, & many more, as well as the crew, like PD Na. I'm happy to know that some of them are now successful with their respective careers and still active as of this year 2023.
Recently this year, Lee Seung Gi just got married, but I didn't get to see his bros Kim Jong Min and Eun Ji Won attended his wedding, as well as PD Na, I wondered why? I can't help but compare my life with this show. Throughout watching this show, I switched 5 companies, one after another. Just like them finishing one show or drama after another. I no longer keep in touch with people from previous companies. I think the cast also as well, unless there will be a reunion, which some of them did, like on the show "New Journey To The West", among others. As you grow, you will meet new people in life, and you get to choose whom you want to stay in your life. But, the fun memories you have with them will stay on.
I wish them all good luck, I also wish myself good luck as well, just like how they got successful after the show, I also wish that this year 2023, my good luck will start as soon as possible, thank you to this show for comforting me and for all the fun memories it gave me.
