this show had a good premise and the actors were fine together but man its such a rush job that i felt zero attachment to any of the characters ,.. i honestly don't know what ppl see in this one which is a shame. if the eps were better fleshed out n stuff was paced sensibly i think it could have been good but as it stands ,...4/10
i don't hate this but at the same time everything feels a bit disjointed and rushed ,... ~20min eps and already being half aired doesn't help things ,.. a shame since there could've been something here but i feel zero attachment to these characters from what i've seen
finally finished this one after it'd been on the ole watchlist backlog for over a decade ,.. i definitely liked aspects of this season better than the first , tho it was alot slower paced and padded out than i think it needed to be with all the side characters , tho at the same time i think it helped things in the end
i really liked the characters themselves in this one and the plot was fine tho it should've been shorter than it was and have less flashbacks,.. i wasn't as fond of the acting and chemistry tho , the FL felt too stiff for my taste but it is what it is when actors are new i guess ( pretty sure i'd seen they had been at the time) ,.. overall i think it was my least favorite hana yori dango adaptation tho its been over a decade since i watched others
Idk about this. As an American , I love Kdrama. It's all I watch outside of sports. But when it comes to the kind…
yeah thats the sad part honestly.. i took a break from asian dramas for a handful of years since my partner doesn't do sub ( slow reader) n i had mostly just been watching stuff with him , i came back in the last couple years and alot of the newer shows i've tried just don't hit the way they used to . i was never Just into kdramas but i always thought the acting in them to be on a higher teir than the taiwanese dramas that always seemed a tad more heated but a bit more cheesy( i say this lovingly) by comparison.. something definately changed in the between years
I don’t see how people loved this so muchðŸ˜ðŸ˜ this was seriously once of my hardest watches ever😅
just finished it , it might be my least favorite adaptation of hana yori dango honestly ,.. it should've been at least 10eps shorter and thats speaking nothing of the stiff acting which i can forgive since it looks like they were new at the time
yeah sadly being a historical drama you can't really not have it that way since it was a mandated hairstyle of…
its pretty low key thanks to the setting i'd say? even tho its apparent at the same time... i won't lie i wasn't exactly sure who i thought the main ML was at certain points the way its handled ... its great tho.
really want to start watching this but the baldness ugghh 😓
yeah sadly being a historical drama you can't really not have it that way since it was a mandated hairstyle of the times to my understanding , you get used to it after a while if you aren't in the first place ( i grew up watching kung fu movies with my father and never really questioned it till i was older and semi used to it). drama is great despite the setting an all tho.
i don't think i've ever seen another drama play the long game so well with a revenge plot ,.. from start to finish this one was entertaining and i was never bored with this one despite its 70ep length
Finally sitting down and watching this, and let me say that 70 looks intimidating but when you start watching…
this is too true ,, i started it last week and only have ~6 eps left , i often shy away with large number counts like this but i might just have to watch a few more long ones that've been sitting on my backlog a decade
I just literally finished this today after a week. Just wow. Amazing love story. The story line, all the actors…
the characters are so similar yet so different that Somehow i didn't realize the FL was the same as the double which i watched a couple months ago before this . shes great in both , i'm lowkey ashamed i didn't realize it tho lol
about that scene the room was supposed to be pitch black they can't see anything , Shao You acted like he was…
ahh that at least makes alot more sense then , they definitely could've conveyed that better , it only looked like the lights were dimmed a tad , i'm definitely seen darker shot stuff so its a weird choice. considering hau yong changes his voice a bit tonally i guess i could see it there and gao tu well if i recall he tried not talking if i recall.
no shade to those who loved this but ...i don't get it . i fell off a bit in the week to week after ep7 for life reasons ,.. picked it back up yesterday to binge the rest since it was finished now and ... i feel like i shouldn't have? i've not read/watched any other omegaverse stuff somehow , but i have read my share of shonen ai mangas and its not even the rather twisted nature of hua yong that bothered me nor the NC stuff ( since its sadly a common element in these ) so much as the weird plot bits that made no sense... like even ignoring all the grossness with all the manipulation .. why did both couple's partners not recognize they slept with the other after that particular part of the show . in one case you've been living with the person X amount of time in the other you've known them so many years how the heck could you not tell by either their voice or face that it was them? i mean i get gao tu tried hiding his face but they clearly showed the fact that he became restrained so wouldn't shen have seen in then? ... and the pacing after that was sorta all over the place where things dragged on a bit too long and the ending itself just felt rushed, the time jump was the worst part of it tho with the kid in the ballpit and boom gao tu and shen meet , then another cut to shen being on death row sorta? i'm hoping its a weird translation bit cause otherwise wth happened!? ...
overall it had an interesting premise but i swear it was a poor execution
Will probably always be chasing the high this show gave me ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜Masterpieces like this is so rare...
same! i have a love/hate relationship with dramas like this ,.. on one hand i love them being good on the other hand it lowkey ruins the enjoyment i get out of other ones for a while awhen they don't hit those highs .
overall it had an interesting premise but i swear it was a poor execution
