Title Eternal Love
I finally watched this. I don't know why I put it to rest for so long coz my favourite genre is xianxia/ wuxia. Oh my! It's everything you guys say it is. I just love Bai Qian and Ye Hua and I prefer Ye Hua over Shifu (however perfect Shifu might be). Also I read comments pointing out Bai Qian is selfish etc but it didn't feel that way for me. Their struggles and insecurities made sense to me. It definitely is a slow start and it felt good to see Bai Qian grow from boring to badass. Now I'm gonna go rewatch.

Well, I avoided the drama for a long time because the ML is weak, but the strong FL enticed. But don't let that…
I think the question to ask is does he ever stop being annoying but I think the ML started growing on me somewhere from the 8th or 9th episode. Don't expect a role reversal tho.

You totally make sense. I think this question popped to me because whenever I watched a historical drama with…
Thank you for the recs. I've been holding off Nirvana in Fire forever because I only heard good reviews about it and I fear I will never be able to come out of that drama and will give up on dramaland. Will definitely check out the others :)

whoever is responsible for choosing that kind of blue color should be fired and never let on a set again.
:D that blue is nice but it was like someone puked blue everywhere haha. That gaudy blue room decoration, I swear the FL must have gone blind at some point.

Picked this up after 2 years... This has light political issues and occasionally funny. I liked FL is not the…
Haha. After sometime you begin to enjoy the wind effect :D The directors got the maximum out of that fan/equipment :D

His acting was good but the plot not so much I guess. Haha, yes, my favorite scene was the anguish in his eyes when Yang Zi flings herself between the two brothers and dies.

Hi! I like the question you brought up, but please note casting director had approached Chang Chen because they…
Yeah, one of the reasons why I wrote this article is that, especially in TRoP , so many people were asking why Chen Kun played Ning Yi and that he was clearly too old for the character. But I think that no one else could have pulled that character off they way that he did too. NiNi looks so much younger than 30. I think she can pull of 18 year Zhiwei. I don't mind younger cast playing younger roles as long as they can pull it off. And do audience really love to watch main leads in their 20s? Really? Hmmm

I don't really understand why Deng Lun is here since in Ashes of Love he is supposed to be, what, a few thousand…
:D I tried to imagine a 1000 year old Deng Lun and now I'm LMAO. Yeah, I think I added him to say that I watched the drama for him and not the awesome plot.

That was Luo Jin in Royal Nirvana for me. Me: Dude, Why are you crying so much and acting petulant? My Inner Voice: That's because he is a teenager and has yet to mature :D

Oh, this sounds interesting and also kind of sad. One thing I hate is when they make a role for an actor instead of the actor molding himself to the role. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me :)

I so agree with you. I began to like actors who were not that pretty because I was so impressed with their acting and some even carried the plot when it sometimes didn't make sense. Now I don't have a big selection of dramas to watch ;(

I think with quite a few of these dramas the story tends to take place over decades. Thus, we may begin with the…
Hmmm. Yeah, that could be a reason why to. But usually the age transition also happens towards the end of the drama, in most of the dramas I have watched anyway. Thank you for your insight :)

Most of historical costume dramas are probably based on a novel of some sort, and in all novels, the ripe age…
You totally make sense. I think this question popped to me because whenever I watched a historical drama with a younger actor, it felt like just acting. But with older actors, its like they transform into the character and you can tell who is who (after some time tho). And yes, its rare to find well produced dramas. There are so many dramas to watch in dramaland but very few to enjoy or get engrossed in. Now I am gonna go google Jin Yongs remakes :D
