I think there is one scene (I kind of skipped over it) but she cries and Muyun comforts her when she finds out…
No problem! Lucky's First Love is very sweet and wholesome too, but I don't know how you feel about watching that because it starts Bai Lu as well (I often don't like watching dramas where the same actor is in both productions as the same time). I also LOVED the historical/xianxia drama Love Better Than Immortality, which is by far my favourite Zhao Lusi drama (even more than Dating in the Kitchen, and the Romance of Tiger and Rose, but both these dramas also have pretty wholesome relationships as well).

The Sweet Girl has one of the best cdrama endings I've ever seen, while the currently airing Love in Time (2020) is pretty sweet and basically just pure fluff (both the ML + FL are super rich LOL, so it's not really "poor girl and rich man"). Oh My Sweet Liar (2020) has one of the most doting and caring MLs ever and so far the storyline is pure sugar as well.

Let me know if you've already watched these or are looking for more recommendations. I agree, sometimes I really just want a drama that's full of "dog food." You can also see my public list on my profile called Cotton Candy Dramas, where I basically put all of the fluffiest dramas I've watched into a single list.

the third wheels are too strong, i paused on 2. but, i have waited for this for like 6 months and i know i must…
At one point there were four different wheels, sigh. I'm still not sure exactly who is the second male lead or if there are second male lead(s), and we're currently at Episode 10.

The way SMY cares for SNF is really sweet. On the surface he can seem controlling and bossy but he just wants…
Have to agree! I also had another thought, that maybe Ou Yang Yu isn't going to be a second lead and maybe Le Di Yin is the true second lead (so for the rest of the drama Ou Yang Yu will basically just feel guilty for Nian Feng?)

I really hope that this angsty part passes quickly, since I love how these two have such a sweet relationship together. Zihui really noticed it (especially that scene when they were both sitting on the couch, and they so naturally responded to each other, i.e. like opening a Coca Cola for him and feeding it to him). This drama is definitely a more low-budget and tropey watch, but I love the chemistry between Muyun and Nian Feng so far.

Can anyone tell me why the ML does not let Le Di Yin or any other guy near his sister but let Qin Yao to be with…
I think there is one scene (I kind of skipped over it) but she cries and Muyun comforts her when she finds out that Qin Yao has never liked her romantically/Qin Yao was going through a breakup or something and she realized she was mostly embarrassed at herself/how much she liked him. In any case, I think it was like in Episode 8, but basically at that moment I think Muyun no longer really considered Qin Yao as any romantic love interest. And I don't really think Nian Feng ever truly loved Qin Yao, she just had a crush on him since he was nice to her.

Truthfully, Qin Yao to me was never really any competition for any of the other guys. I also think the drama is trying to set up (honestly the whole Nian Feng has a crush on Qin Yao line is so pointless) Qin Yao with Zi Hui eventually. I'm honestly still not really sure what Le Di Yin's true role is because it seems like Ou Yang Yu is going to be the second lead, UNLESS Ou Yang Yu continues to feel only guilt and Le Di Yin is the true "second lead." Guess we'll just have to keep watching to figure it out!

FL doesn't know she is one till it was revealed to her by Ou Yang Yu's nasty sister (loved what ML said to her…
No problem! I'm glad we clarified this. Now I can't wait for next week's episodes to see how the angst is addressed (so we can go back to the cute fluff!)

Title Sweet First Love Spoiler
No, she was always aware she was adopted by the Su family. You are right. The reason she was so upset with SMY…
Thank you! This was a SUPER helpful overview, because honestly I was so confused. I had already predicted though that at one point Muyun and Nian Feng have to confront their "sibling" relationship, and given that we're almost reaching the halfway point of the show, I'm glad that so far pacing on this has been pretty quick. Even I was confused by Qingxue's "evidence" LOL, so this breakdown was so useful for me to understand exactly what I was watching.

I definitely think Ou Yangyu's father is involved; Ou Yangyu's appearance seemed so illogical to me, and whatever he's up to by helping Nian Feng seemed out of left field (unless there was a bigger reason). On the other hand, because of this, I don't really see him as a serious romantic interest b/c his feelings seem much too intertwined with his guilt and whatever truly happened between him and Nian Feng's family.

I'm bracing myself to see Muyun's pain over the next few episodes, especially as the relationship between him and Nian Feng unravels. At least this is pretty necessary if their relationship is to become romantic, so hopefully the angst is not too much to bear.

Seriously, Qingxue is honestly such a trash character. I totally agree that I literally have no idea why she keeps going for Muyun other than the fact that he doesn't like her. I'm also surprised that she seems to have absolute 0 moral sensibility - it seems like she doesn't know how her family was involved with Nian Feng's parents' accidents, but even so you would never just randomly compile all of this "evidence" given the psychological pain it could incur on Nian Feng It felt absolutely delicious to see Muyun and Zihui give her the verbal "face slapping" she deserved.

He's honestly a sweet and doting ML! He only seems cold at first, but honestly he's very doting and caring after…
From what I can honestly remember, I THINK it should be around Episode 11 or 12. At the end, there's a scene where he discovers her real identity, and he secretly watches her and smiles. I think that's when the viewers can really see that he loves her.

I will warn you however there are a lot of misunderstandings (he thinks she likes the SML, other problems arise, etc.) but the final ending is so sweet and happy it was worth it for me. If you're still not feeling like it's a good drama after getting to the more "sugary" parts, then perhaps this might not be a drama for you. But I'd recommend like skipping through the first stretch, getting to the part where he falls for her, and then you see that he really is completely doting and loving to FL.

FL doesn't know she is one till it was revealed to her by Ou Yang Yu's nasty sister (loved what ML said to her…
In the English subbed version, it's one of the earlier scenes when someone talks about Su Muyun and Nian Feng being siblings, and Nian Fang says that she's a foster daughter (she acknowledges they're not her real parents). Perhaps there are some subtitling issues?

It should be in the early beginning, like they're in school and it's the part where the viewer is learning about the different characters (it might also be when Zihui finds out Su Muyun and Nian Feng are siblings too).

Thanks for the clarification, I often skip so sometimes I miss details, but I realized that this was a huge part of the plot and is kind of central to the story. I'm kind of confused still because... (and maybe the drama hasn't shown this yet) but are Su Muyun's parents ACTUALLY responsible for the accident? I thought Ou Yang Yu's parents were responsible instead?

If they aren't responsible for the accident, I'm not really sure what the problem is here. Or perhaps Su Muyun doesn't know what she heard in the audio recording, and so they don't know what exactly Nian Feng heard?

Anyways, it's absolutely laughable that Qingxue knows more about the whole situation than Nian Feng herself. Really, she is such a hateful character, and the lengths she goes for something so selfish (I still have no idea why she even likes Su Muyun beyond the fact that he rejects her LOL) is ridiculous.

Wait, I'm so confused? In the subtitles for episode 1, she literally said "I'm a foster daughter," so now I actually am just very unclear about what's going on. Perhaps that was a subtitling mistake, but that's pretty big if it's only at Episode 10 that Nian Feng discovers she's actually not their daughter.

Truthfully, I think we're going to get angst from here, and if this is the case it's well-deserved... I'm guessing then she completely lost her memories of the accident? The whole drama has suddenly changed for me now that she technically didn't find out until now.

I totally agree... it's literally 2020, I can't believe we're still having such horrible side characters like Ou Yang Yu's sister (I don't even know her name because I honestly can't be bothered to even care at this point).

Since I'm kinda tired of arrogant male leads for the moment, I probably shouldn't watch this, right?
He's honestly a sweet and doting ML! He only seems cold at first, but honestly he's very doting and caring after he realizes that he has feelings for the FL.

I want to like it but the acting is just horrible. I know he is a newbie in acting but gosh he needs acting lesson…
He's definitely rookie. I like Kabby Hui because she's dealt with a lot of hard times in the past and a lot of criticism, but I also agree that she's playing a very similar character to her last drama in Legend of Jinyan. I will be honest in saying that this is no acting masterpiece, and Cdrama casting is often dependent on a whole host of factors beyond "talent," so hopefully both improve in the future.

Yeah and also given how much basketball and running around he does I just don't think the whole makeup thing would work on the back. But good comments and I'm glad to know I was not the only one who was really confused about why he had the exact same patch from high school to university in the drama (LOL)

I just got to Episode 10 and I DEFINITELY see what you're talking about now. I don't know, I actually kind of like Ou Yang Yu... but maybe that's just because he seems like a "golden thigh" (i.e. rich, can give Nian Feng all the material things she wants LOL)

I'm confused about the love triangle(s), can someone explain??
So Qin Yao is basically I guess her first crush, but honestly it doesn't really go anywhere. If there's one complaint I have I have no idea what the purpose of having a character like him is (I think he might get together with Zihui in the future).

Le De Yin is basically just a friend... I am actually not sure if he has romantic feelings for Nian Feng even though it seems like it, because he technically has no friends at all. I am going to guess that he might go through difficulties with his health in the drama and therefore that impacts Nian Feng's career since she wants to become a doctor (but I might be totally wrong about this).

So now we get to the actual love lines, which I think are mainly between Ou Yang Yu (who needs to pay off his "father's debt" to Nian Feng, hasn't really been shown what that is yet but I think we can all kind of guess) and Su Muyun towards Nian Feng. I really don't think the other guys are any serious romantic candidates (literally episodes pass by without seeing Qin Yao and Le De Yin so maybe they don't become important until the future?)

Both Zihui and Ou Yang Yu's sister like Su Muyun, but Ou Yang Yu's sister is a lot meaner and deliberately strategizes against Nian Feng, while I think Zihui and Nian Feng will continue to best friends (even if Zihui finds out Su Muyun likes Nian Feng).
On Sweet First Love Oct 10, 2020
I think I skipped way too much because I'm kind of confused. In Episode 10, why does Nian Feng get angry at Su Mu Yun? I thought in the beginning we already clarified that she was a foster daughter? I think I fast-forwarded a lot because I couldn't stand to see Ou Yang Yu's sister...

Thanks for your information. I should drop this, cuz I hate reverse harem.
No problem... it's not really reverse harem since two of the guys (Qin Yao and Le Di Yin) really aren't any true romantic partners in any sense. If you're still interested in watching, I think we're getting to the point where it's pretty clear the love line will be between Su Muyun, Nian Feng, and Ou Yang Yu.

I think it's probably a tattoo then. But i'm kinda surprised (not that there's anything wrong with having a tattoo) but that Ren Shihao has so many despite his rookie status and his young age. Perhaps it's a tattoo with a personal name on it or something and since it would reveal private information about them, that's why they don't show it off?

She knows and acknowledges that Su Muyun's parents are her foster parents.
No problem! Have a good time watching. Honestly the whole sister-brother thing (to me) is not that big of a deal because Su Muyun is very clear about how she is not his sister. I also think part of the broader storyline when they grow up is about them learning that they can't really be "siblings," because of their feelings, so honestly this whole siblings plot is a non-issue to me and really just a plot device to keep them in closer proximity together.
