Let's hope it's better done than The Business Proposal and remains faithful to the webtoon. Netflix did a hatchet job on The Business Proposal. So disappointing. Ruined my all time favorite webtoon. Let's hope they don't do the same to Positively Yours.
How is this Americanized? This is purely Asian in character. American drama does not rely on cliques and tropes; it focuses more on the relationship and is far more realistic. If ML is rich, he's a self-made professional; not a chaebol heir to the throne who has to marry who daddy says he has to marry. And a lot of time both ML/FL are just average professionals who are comfortable financially but not unimaginably wealthy. Americans are not obsessed with wealth like I see in K-dramas or C-dramas. In American dramas, you don't have the whole office bowing to the boss as he walks in as if he's their master or something. Sure, show respect but don't bow and stand at attention. There's no couples falling into a kiss or any of the other ridiculous tropes used over and over again in every Rom-Com. There's no obsessed (psycho) female love rivals or tyrannical parents forcing a business marriage in American drama. I have to disagree strongly that American drama has no love development; honestly, I'd say that's an Asian thing, not an American one. I find American drama has more depth in regards to the relationship and is more realistic - that's why you don't need the obsessed love rivals/tyrannical parents in American drama. The drama focuses on the relationship, not external forces. It's also funnier because they understand the meaning Rom-COM (romance COMEDY). This seems more like a rant against America than a review of this drama (which I agree is shit). If you want to rant, you ought to rant that it's NOTHING like the original webtoon.
Ditto! I couldn't agree more! It doesn't resemble the webtoon at all! I was seriously disappointed that they did a hatchet job on my favorite all time webtoon.
I'm a Yu Zhou fan. I just didn't care for Yan Ci's attitude. Yeah, he's got trauma but he needs counseling not a girlfriend. I'm just not a fan of bad boys; they carry too much baggage & treat a girl like crap depending on their emotional state at the time. Such relationships are exhausting.
Ikr... the so-called love triangle (the visit of that photographer), the misunderstanding leading to break up,…
This is typical of a C-drama. They start out good and then midway point fall apart because the scriptwriter feels the need to separate the couple instead of showing them weathering the storm together. And the separation is either some scheming obsessed chick or tyrannical parents. I really get tired of the predictability. Yeah, I'm not surprised he got on his high horse - he was that kind of character.
What did I do wrong??? You nasty biatch did so many things wrongs, starting with trying to break up a couple that…
Typical of C-dramas. Always have to have an obsessed chick. And this one is particularly bad with that bright red lipstick. These woman never have any respect for themselves - chasing a man who doesn't love you.
Just another C-drama soap opera. 24 episodes is too long so 56 episodes ought to give the potential viewer a clue - continuous angst that'll drive you literally insane. A happy ending isn't worth this kind of torture! I get so tired of these parents, resident psycho chicks, etc. always trying to force MLs into unwanted marriages. It's the 21st century! No child ought to be forced into an unwanted marriage. Children are not business commodities/bargaining chips. ARGH!
The first half of the drama was comedy GOLD. Comedy continues past the halfway point but it does noticeably decrease.…
It's typical of C-dramas to start out strong and then dive off the deep end around mid-point. At least, that's been my viewing experience. I think they make dramas too long, causing them to lose focus and become too serious, too angsty as they search for ways to extend the storyline. Maybe if they'd jumped back and forth from game to office, they could have kept the momentum.
HEA ending ....? anyone....?reply with spoiler would be best I think .... thankssssss !!
As expected with a C-drama, it starts out funny, light and amusing and around the middle they ruin it with forced marriages, the emperor meddling and court politics, etc. so it becomes all serious and angsty. I'll tell you right now, the ML is forced to marry another woman. In my book, that kills the entire story so unless you like that kind of nonsense, don't bother watching.
Watching it on IQIYI right now, and the description above doesn't match what's going on at this point. I'm at episode 3 and Hou Chi pretty much has her in seclusion so maybe the description above occurs later on?
