Wait; but this is adapted from La Mante, a French series 😅
This is what is written in the opening. However, I did not watch the opening. This drama is just like Prodigal Son. Netflix just bought back Prodigal Son and is posting the series again. I loved Prodigal Son and immediately thought of this series while watching the Korean Drama. Prodigal Son laid no claims to it being a remake. So I would not have known the other origin.
So many people were so confused about Love Alarm. So many thought that Sunho was the first lead. While Sing Kang did muscle that part, the Super Model was in fact the second lead. In the end, Jung Ga Ram ended up with Jojo, as always intended.
Xing Fei And Xu Kai—Xu Kai seems too much for Xing Fei to handle. The bad boy and the muse. Ding Yu Xi And Xu Ruo Han—All up in this one Yang Zi And Steven Zhang—Interestingly, I get this match. It is a go. Tan Song Yun And Chen Fei Yu—He is subtle demur and she is a firecracker. I can see this. Bai Jing Ting And Bai Lu—I am shocked that they have never worked together. Li Xian and Zhou Dong Yu—I think that this pair would flatline. I love him and okay with her, but their acting styles would need an energy opposite. See what happened with Yang Zi and Li Xian? The opposites created total magic in Flourished Peony. Jing Bo Ran And Dilraba Dilmurat and Sandra Ma—Chef pick this trio. Either would work. Go older woman or younger woman. Yang Yang And NiNi—Perfect Zhao Lu Si And Liu Hao Ran—Two smooth deliveries. I see it. Zhang Jing Yi And Wu Lei or Song Weilong—I have done the math. Baby girl elevates any male she works with. I don’t know what pixie dust she carries in her pocket. Leo Wu is the sophisticated direction and Song Weilong is the sensual guy next door direction. Both would work.
This drama for me was top notch. I don’t understand the backlash for When the Stars Gossip. The ending for me prompted loud applause. This was good storytelling, cinematography, lighting, editing and great acting. It just was a thrilling story. Episode16 was out of this world. Pun Intended.
You are not looking in a mirror. If you need professional help I can help you. You are being reported. Hopefully, you stay here will be short. Thank You.

Just saw episode four and all my theories postulated after looking at episode three were confirmed. The male lead’s future self falls in love with the grifting female before his present self knew that this would happen. Of course this made perfect sense, given the drama action. However, the male lead’s future self really would not fall in love with the female lead before the present self knows it, because time starts with the present and goes to the future. However, his future self keeps coming back to the present showing that he does and this is circumventing the process, the natural order of things. Now the big mind blowing question to answer in the drama The Atypical Family will be “Did he fall in love because of the power of suggestion from the female lead in his future self’s past, because that is what she told him would happen? This is juxtaposed with this question, “Did he fall in love with the female lead naturally, because he finally felt useful when he could use his powers to save someone?” And the follow up question will be, “Will he be able to go back to the school fire and save her in the initial incident?” I am holding unto the last thought, because this would make The Atypical Family one of the best written Time Travel drama’s ever. I just happen to be completing an article on the Best Asian Time Travel Dramas ever (Chinese and Korean). I was able to nail down only 24 dramas which follow the Science of Time Travel. I really like time travel dramas and have seen way more than 24, but I am looking for the ones with the best use of time travel theories. However, 24 was such an odd number to collect, that I was wishing to find 25, but I did not. Now I found my number 25. I am going dark after this. The Atypical Family looks like it will be a masterpiece. I knew that it was complicated enough to discourage some. I did not want anyone to miss this one, especially from some who were writing up this drama and they don’t know what they are talking about. I have seen great dramas get destroyed on MDL by people who don’t know what they are talking about (The Impossible Heirs and Only for Love are two great drama). With this bit of info, most should see what a great drama The Atypic

Here is further explanation of action in Episode 3. Since the drama is going in one direction and twists to another direction, this information may be considered a spoiler by some. This info is from episode 3. The Atypical Family is still a brilliant drama.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I watch the clock on Saturday and Sunday to catch the latest dropped episodes. The music and the cinematic visuals are beyond awesome. Because of the superpowers of the male lead (Jang Ki Yong), this drama should be considered a time travel drama. This blows my mind even more. To state that The Atypical Family has a time traveler is not a spoiler. You find that out in the first half of the first episode. However, some may not put 2 and 2 together to realize that his powers makes him a time traveler. There will be major spoilers coming up in this write up. So if you are waiting to binge, please stop here.
I love the way the male and female leads are isolated in color in their scenes when the male lead time travels. It is such a captivating visual ploy. Add to the mind blowing drama arc that his future self (who can go back in time) falls in love with the female lead (Chun Woo-hee ), before his present self does, and he is becoming aware of this slowly. This causes the time traveler to do things in the future that he is not aware of in the present, leaving time travel droppings, which everyone in the present thinks is his actions, but it is not. It is his future self doing the actions. These signs of affection to the female lead done by his future self in the present, even confuses him, because he has not done them yet nor does he feel theses emotions yet. Mind sufficiently blown.
The couple is in color in certain scenes and all else is not. What does this mean? I am going to guess that the use of color only on them signifies that he is time traveling. This may be a big reveal in later episodes, to further explain what she saw when she looked in the mirror at the end of episode 3. She did not see him in the mirror with her, although he was there with her. He was holding her. Nonetheless, she appeared to be balancing on her own when she looked into the mirror. If color is used thusly, this pulls them out of normal reality and isolates them. She is the only one he can touch when he is time traveling. The color pulls them out to their own specific universe. They are in their own alternate reality, as signified by color. Perhaps, no one else can see him when he is Time Traveling.
Also, look at the fact that he keeps running into himself. This really breaks a man made time travel rule, and I want to see how this is resolved.
One thing is for sure, the superpowers of the male lead are evolving, because of the female lead. When the male lead comes back to the present from the future for his short visits, oftentimes it is to save the females lead from incidences where she is about to be harmed.
Lastly, the male lead’s daughter Ina has a crush and guess who it is?
weirdly good because you don't understand anythingin that sense all garbage is good because we don't understand…
Moving is the cornerstone Korean drama for all the “Let’s totally take this in a different direction” drama. I was not surprised that Moving got the Daesang or Grand Prize at the Baeksang this of of 2024. I predicted this when I first saw it. Some people may only remember that My Dearest got Best Drama of the Year (Another drama which some people did not understand). However, Moving getting the Daesang or Grand Prize Award puts Moving ahead of My Dearest, because the Grand Prize os a higher award.

You may need to use the pause feature on the remote more often. You are missing a lot. You are entitled to your opinion. However, your information does not contain the whole picture. I can tell that by what you say.
weirdly good because you don't understand anythingin that sense all garbage is good because we don't understand…
Impossible Heir is one of the best dramas out there right now. The development of those character were stellar. I am not trying to be rude. I know that it is hard to read subtitles and get the sense of things. I suppose that I would be in worse shape if I did not have a photographic memory. This is probably why I pick up so much more than most.
Action from the first Episode and not a spoiler
The girl is a grifter (a person who engages in petty or small-scale swindling). She is planted in the family to steal their money. The grandmother has the powers which are making the family rich. Her dreams* give her insider trader tips of stocks. Premonitions, if you will. This is like advance business information, which she uses to gain money. If she does not dream, she does not get advance info that enriches her. Her insomnia is hurting the family financially. She needs to dream for the family to make money. The grifter needs the grandmother to dream so that the grandmother can make more money so that the grifter has more money to steal.
Therefore, there is a direct correlation between the grandmother, her insomnia and the grifter wanting the grandmother to sleep. This is one of the most brilliance dramas since the brilliant drama Moving. Many Internet articles believe that Atypical Family will score as high as Queen of Tears. I would not go that far. I will tell you however, Monday to Saturday for the next episode to drop is the longest time period.
weirdly good because you don't understand anythingin that sense all garbage is good because we don't understand…
There is no garbage here in Atypical Family. Secondly, if you can call something garbage, then you understand it. If you don’t understand it, it is supercilious to call it garbage. You should not be calling it garbage, because of your lack of understanding. Now some people don’t get brilliance. So I am here to help out.
Okay, you can clock this drama on the books. After only five episodes, Atypical Family just jumped into my Top 10 out of 308 dramas viewed. Queen of Tears is #7 and Extraordinary Attorney Woo is number 8. I now have Atypical Family as #9 of All Times. Both QoT and EAW may fall before Atypical Family is completed.
how are this not spoilers when it come in episode 1, those who haven't watch 1st ep its spoiler
Do you understand what a spoiler is? Before anyone watches anything, you are told what the story is about. Is that a spoiler? No. You have to be able to give people advance notice of the story line. Did you not find out that the family had superpowers before you watched the show? Is that a spoiler? People can take certain liberties in the first episode. It is when the story becomes progressive and someone reveals something later on, that this becomes a spoiler to the progression of the plot. The plot has to get going first, however. Nothing I revealed robs you of the full effect of the experience, because the plot has not even got going yet.
