It’s rare for season 2 to be better than season 1 of a drama. This one is better even though S1 is good! Seeing S1 helps to understand the temperament and the background of most of the characters. So, it doesn’t take long to fall in love with the story and root for the characters in this drama. The serious moments have enough light comedy for a good mix of the two. I looked away from a lot of open bloody surgical procedures and needle pokes. Too realistic for my taste. Still Worth watching. 9/10

Both the mother and sister look down on the local families. They were wealthy in Singapore before the accident and before they were disowned by the rich in-laws. The mother forgot her roots as a former middle class wife of a cop who gambled mahjong while her child burned. The daughter was spoiled rotten from the jump! I want to snatch both of their weaves! Lol!

Respecting the elders, being filial, is huge in Asia. The pressure from parents and other relatives can break the relationship. I’ve heard of a woman living with a foreigner in China for over fours years who broke off the relationship because the parents would not give their approval to marry.
LX is mentally prepared to defy his mother. Plus, he has his father’s approval. So, Chen Ting will not succeed if she disapproves.
I really enjoyed this. It’s short enough to watch while waiting for an epic drama to air. The story has a good balance of romance, comedy and a little mystery considering it’s a palace drama. The actors made this better than average especially the leads. 8.5/10

It’s funny since 99% of the communication has been digital. This won’t change by moving farther apart.
I would add: Misaeng, Kazoku Game, Kiss Me and Secret Love Affair. - The drama Misaeng/Incomplete Life faded out of discussion when tVN followed it up with a disappointing parody and not season 2. It’s not the typical kdrama. But, it is worth seeing. Anyone who has worked a thankless office job or feels like they are pressured to live to work and not work to live can relate. - Kazoku Game is a gem of a mystery drama that you think you know from the synopsis, but, exceeds your expectations! The psychological aspects are unexpected and perfectly introduced. The male lead was made for his role. - There are about 12 versions of Mischievous Kiss. The Thai version, Kiss Me, is a kinder gentler version where the male lead character is not has hard nosed as in the other versions. The smile on the female lead is addictive. I grinned like an idiot watching this version. - Secret Love Affair got lower ratings because many are against the age gap and the “affair” in dramas. There is much more to see in the drama if one overlooks or are not put off by these topics. The acting is superb from the entire cast.! The storyline is relatable to the lonely or anyone seeking positive affirmation of their self worth that they are not getting from their current circle of friends/family. The production has a high quality movie feel to it. Worth watching at least once.
I watched season 2 before seeing season 1. Season 2 is much better. I skipped over a lot of the episode contents because of the excessive panel discussions, product placement and less roommate videos compared to season 2. Product placement is thick. It’s really an expensive multi-part ice-cream commercial with a few clips of people in a share house thrown in for diversity. Not worth watching to the disappointing cliff hanger ending . 6.5/10

It’s ironic that Sun Yan plays the younger version of Sun Li’s character, Fang Si Jin. Sun Yan is the real half sister of Sun Li and is 19 years younger! Sun Li does not look that much older!
Vatana will not allow any negative comments about Victoria Song or her dramas! I felt her wrath this week when I commented that Song’s current airing drama seems mediocre since I just finished watching the superior “Nothing But Thirty” and both have similar themes. Apparently forming a negative after watching only 3 episodes is not allowed. Smh.
