I'm actually looking forward to this even with all the changes! atp it's a similar show to saiunkoku monogatari and not an adaptation and thats fine! it was never gonna be an exact copy with Sa Sakujun 2ml anyway lol i'm just happy they seem to have kept the vibes and seeing my girls again <3
One thing that lowkey bothers me (other than the previously trashy netflix subs) is that they completely changed the game avatar designs which as a fan of the previous adaptations have found it very difficult to spot characters unfortunately. I guess it wouldn’t bother newer watchers and it’s nice they used the actors as a base for the graphics themselves. It’s definitely liveable and I’ll get used to it. Also I’m glad there’s no romance (I was scared af) cause it’d completely ruin the story
Why do they hate her? She is very beautiful and talented in my opinion.
Firstly, The Untamed is a LOOSE adaptation. Certain elements have been changed to fit airing requirements, so don’t expect an exact copy of the novel (even the donghua didn’t do that).
As Pheonix said, MZY has officially confirmed that she has no romantic role in the drama. As for the fact that she will be getting more scenes, good for her. The novel is filled with hunky men and visually it isn’t balanced (that’s just my opinion though), XL will also probably have more screen time.
She bought her way in? If she’s good, she’s in. I honestly doubt it seeing as the staff spent their sweet time matching appearances to character designs and she fits Wen Qing wonderfully. As for “changing” the plot she literally cannot do that. Why hate her when she has no control over the situation and is just doing her job hm?
What makes me laugh about this is haters coming at her fans, people who support her with “You don’t know her irl!!!! You don’t know the real story!!” Well, neither do the haters, all they know of are malicious rumours who could well be trolls trying to ruin a growing actresses reputation. Think before you speak.

Oh! I was just wandering through this section and have seen that there’s been miscommunication here! Athena you are talking about Eternal Love, starring Yang Mi and Mark Chao. whereas YangHeart is referring to THE Eternal Love with Liang Jie and Xing Zhaolin as main cast!
I’m pretty hyped for this. From what I’ve seen they (the director etc.) has considerably changed the plot and the relationship of Wei x Wangji from the novel and has changed it into an ancient crime/action series with sworn brotherhood. I’m looking forward to how they incorporate the original novel’s setting and timeline into the drama while changing quite a bit. Since the majority of the cast are small names, it’ll be interesting to see how they perform!
