maybe because of shifting tastes?? according to this:https://www.koreaboo.com/stories/k-dramas-c-dramas-korean-chinese-best-worst-2025/
A very honest question here. How NETFLIX ruins EVERYTHING?
I don't think you are naive enough, to not know that the KDRAMA world, is making million of WON and dollars money, since they signed up or teamed up with NETFLIX.
THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY IS WHAT IS, BUSINESS. So, in my point of view, if KDRAMA world is been RUINED, the KDRAMA business is much accountable! They accepted the contract with NETFLIX and its guidelines.
Don't blame just one side of the parties, businesses are done in partnerships.

I have another one for you. Nem tudo que reluz é ouro.
@dietresky I agree—not everything that shines is gold. Still, I think He Yan’s character is special. She’s altruistic, kind, just, and benevolent, yet also determined to fight for her independence and to right the wrongs her family did to her. In my view, she shines like a beacon—a light that cuts through the judgments and prejudices of her time.

I was going to respond to the idea that He Yan “doesn’t accomplish anything and is always saved by men,” but episode 26 came to mind. When Commander Li orders women to be used as a distraction, He Yan’s reaction speaks volumes about her character. As the Portuguese saying goes, “Para quem sabe ler, um pingo é letra”—those who understand will see the point. Perhaps my expectations were different, but I find He Yan fascinating, and the actress does a wonderful job portraying her. Zhou Ye may not fully look the part of a man, but she performs beautifully, and He Yan is clearly not a damsel in distress.
