By revealing it to the public, they're not under pressure to date secretly and not get caught. Also, the fans might accept it bcs the idol is being honest with fans. If they date in secret, there's a higher risk of getting caught by paparazzi or fans. The so called "fans" will feel 'betrayed' that the idol didn't tell them himself and they had to find out through the news.

also when Minchae finds her mom's diary, she says something abt Heedo's ex-boyfriend, meaning she probably knows abt her mom's breakup.

I feel like Heedo will be a single mom, since only she's there during Minchae's competition. There's no way her dad would have missed his daughter's event (unless he's a jerk or really busy). I think they get seperated (while Heedo is pregnant with Minchae) and Yijin never knew abt it.
