I agree, he said something stupid and hurtful, but he apologized. As someone who isn’t SEA, I have no right to accept or deny his apology. All I can say is that it was stupid and ignorant of him to say what he said. He did wrong and he apologized for it and in my opinion, it’s not something he should lose his career over.

1. The family NEVER spoke up when the Aunt blamed him for her death. In fact, after that they claimed that though she was not biologically related to them, that she was still like family. They supported her claims which means they also held the same position that he was responsible for her death.
2. You say no one cares if the photos were from when she was a minor or not, but that’s simply untrue. The claims against him that were made by the fake aunt and echoed by Kim Seui were built on these images. If the family had spoken out in March, we wouldn’t be here in November debating whether Kim Soohyun is a groomer or not. Again the mother came out in support of the aunt and never corrected her.
3. The letter he wrote her in 2018 was nothing. A singular letter from when he was enlisted that didn’t have any suggestive undertones, means nothing to the vast majority of people. Funny how they mixed that with a postcard from when they were actually dating.
4. In the chicken soup video, she went to his house that he shared with family who by the way is one of GM’s founders. There could be many reasons why she was there. It seems to be a normal thing in Korea amongst celebrities anyways. So, unless you can prove something heinous happened, that’s another nothing burger.
5. The lingerie video he sent her when she was a legal adult? Oh, the horror. The two were dating then. It wasn’t like he randomly sent it to her out of the blue. You might disagree with their age gap but it doesn’t mean he did anything wrong. Their age gap was 12 years and they dated for a few months.
6. Kim Soohyun was in a committed relationship when he was in the military whilst Kim Saeron was dating someone else during that time. She was always open about who she was dating in their celebrity circle. So, the people who need to know are the only people that know.
7. They mixed true messages from Soohyun with messages from someone else. He had a busy schedule during many of those messages from when she was a minor. When he was in the military he couldn’t freely use his phone. The family even said that one message where the recipient was unknown that they had assumed it was Kim Soohyun because of Saeron’s younger sister. Their lawyer went on a broadcast that’s where this information comes from.

I’m from America. We become legal adults when we turn 18 years old. At that point in time, we are legally capable of making our own decisions unless proven otherwise. I’m not using American standards to judge a Korean person. You are seen as a legal adult at 19 years old in Korea. At the beginning of the year you will turn 19, you will be treated as an adult. There is no proof that he was flirting with her when she was 15-18 years old. Kim Soohyun sent a letter to her about the weather and going back to school when she was 17. If that’s flirting, then a lot of people should be in jail.

You might have an issue with age gaps, but that’s your personal preference. The moment you become an adult, you have the capacity to know right from wrong and to make your own decisions. She consented to a relationship with him and there has been no proof of abuse or anything of the sort during that period.

How is it parasocial to defend someone? I have all the information that you have.

Through their lawyer they have said:

1. They never claimed nor thought Kim Soohyun was responsible for her death.

2. They never told Kim Seui that the photos were from when she was a minor.

3. They had assumed that in one of the messages they released that Kim Soohyun was the unknown recipient because her sister said so.

Should I go on?

I don’t really understand that part. The two of them lied about being a couple in Jeju in order for him to land her ex as a partner or whatever. So, why would it be impossible for her to trust him now? I feel like her doubling down made the situation worse as it only made him more upset.

She would rather be seen as a liar, cheater and bad mother than to just admit she was wrong.

He is being immature, but I feel his crash out is very valid. I think her no hesitation denial of their connection in Jeju was her final nail in the coffin for him ngl. She rubbed dirt into his wound and expected them to be all good.

If it’s left up to him, he’s not getting married. It’s a situation being forced on him that he has been consistently fighting which is different from not only being married, but having a kid as well. He feels cheated and he only pursued her because he thought she was single.

I pray this doesn’t go on for another two episodes and it ends next episode.

By choosing to keep lying to our very immature Jihyeok, she has increased the weight on her shoulders by a lot. He’s obstructing her at every turn trying to make her resign. He’s her boss and her whole team can literally dissolve if this misunderstanding keeps going which puts her colleagues at risk too. Which is my main issue with her continuing to lie.

Misunderstandings just frustrate me to no end especially when it’s between the main couple and it goes on for half the story (which I hope it isn’t the case for this drama).

I think it’s completely platonic. Maybe she was his ex’s friend and they got close after she died/left.

She didn’t even hesitate before basically saying that what happened between them was a moment of insanity that should’ve never happened.

I’m not expecting their relationship to start now. She doesn’t even like him the way he likes her. What I want from the next episode is for the two to have an honest discussion. If she tells the truth, then it would take away that extra obstacle and she can do her work without Jihyeok over her shoulder constantly obstructing her.

Darim made this situation worse by double-downing on the lies. She now has a Jihyeok-shaped problem. It puts her at a disadvantage.

I hate everything about this specific plot line. I personally would rather just be a liar than a liar and a cheat.

I agree. He’s clearly not taking it well. So, continuing to lie, specifically to him, is only going to make her situation more complicated.

Nah fl is making this whole thing more difficult than it needs to be. She could’ve just told him the truth instead of making herself come off as a liar and cheater. I’m kinda glad the ml isn’t just a pushover. I mean imagine you met someone whom you truly liked and find out after you already kissed and went on a date, that she’s “married and has a child”.

I don’t know how she thought keeping the lie going would help her case, he’s literally not responding well at all. I know why she needs the money, but he doesn’t. Just say “Hey, I lied on my application because I really need money to take care of my mom(?), but I really did like you.”

Darim acts like she’s entitled to the job because she passed the interview, but you passed by lying. She’s putting other people’s jobs at risk as if she’s the only person in the room that matters. What really got me is that she didn’t consult with Seonu before submitting the application.

I like her character overall though. She’s a strong person from what I’ve seen so far who’s been whittled down by life. I imagine that character growth will involve some sort of self-acceptance and more confidence.

I completely understand and sympathize with Jihyeok in this instance. Is he immature? Yes. Did he go too far? Yes. Do I think he’s an awful human being because of it? No.

Jihyeok wears his heart on his sleeve. He takes things personally and doesn’t like being lied to. He’s the type of person to love with all his heart. I think his character growth will involve a giant spoon of maturity and a sprinkle of security.

I quite like this couple, but them not being on the same page is killing me.
