Ash

It's not often I watch a drama that has a character I basically want to punch in the throat every time they shuffle on screen, but here we are. I'm hoping it gets better as I go along, but I know it won't. I will finish it, it's a compulsion, but I don't have to like it. The show itself is fine enough, but it's trying so hard to stretch the story across so many episodes that it almost becomes a cringey, insufferable beast. If this had been shortened a few episodes and the pace stayed rather consistent, I could see better things coming of it.

I've had it on hold for years, body swap schticks aren't usually my thing, but I've been watching it over the last few days. I don't feel the burning urge to binge it like I do some others, admittedly, but I don't regret it. The first few episodes are kinda campy, but it gets into the plot pretty well and the development doesn't drag too much. I think it's pretty funny in a not intentionally cringe-fest way. Might be worth watching one or two episodes every day or so to pass the time.

Yaaay. I'm happy to see more people enjoying it at face value, instead of trying to find some secret message in the plot. It's just straight up fun and angsty, which is what you need sometimes.

Heirs is everything I wanted Boys Over Flowers to be. One giant cliche with cute, fairly fast paced romance. I mean it's not international prize winner, but I'm not hating it. It's cute, for what it is, and definitely worth it if this is your schtick.
