It was from ep 35. There was a grenade that came out of nowhere. ML wanted to save the people and took the grenade. He took serious damage from the grenade. FL did the surgery on him. ML went into a coma after the surgery. When he woke up, he developed Amnesia due to the after-effects of brain damage and coma.

well, he could hear from his brother. The flashbacks seemed like FL POV to me. In some scenes only FL was shown.

I still can't believe how things turned out. They could make a great ending with full of happiness. Everything was on track after episode 30. With 1 episode they could make everything correct and give us a great ending. But they got 6 unnecessary episodes and destroyed everything that was developed so far. Nothing to say. I just feel sad.
It was a very good drama till episode 30. Overall, it is still good. But you just can't forget what happened in those 6 episodes. Although we try to ignore it, still, those are a part of this drama.

They had a lot of chances to make an amazing ending for this drama. But they just did the opposite. They destroyed everything that they build in the last 20+ episodes. I just feel sad. What a wasted potential!
Chemistry was great, the story was also great for most of the drama. The greatest thing was Wang Churan and her smile. That's what I take from this drama. Otherwise, it was a pity and a wasted potential.

I also wish the same. But, he didn't remember till then. Those flashbacks were from FL. He might remember someday. Also the scenes, we could see ML clearly liked (or started to like) FL at that time. It's like we see in other dramas with an amnesia plot. Even if you have amnesia, you still like/love the people that you liked before. It's like same. Well, from the ending I would say they certainly get a happy ending although it was not shown. Whatever it is, Both FL and ML deserved much better than this ending. We also the viewers deserve a better ending not this bullshit amnesia thing.

The show went completely downhill in the last 6 episodes. Actually, from episode 27 it went downhill. But till episode 30 it was still ok. Not from episode 31. Pandemic issues and then the Africa plot. Africa plot was just completely unnecessary and showed the bad side of Africa as always. The main problem of the fall of this drama in the last 6-10 episodes was the drama just became a typical drama in those episodes. A lot of tropes and cliche without depth in the story. The main charm of this drama was that the characters were true to themselves in the first 20+ episodes. But, suddenly they became completely new characters. ML took a 180-degree turn overall, and became a person we want to see in other dramas but not in this drama. Africa episodes were just filler. No story only showed things like some Hollywood movies that show African rebels. At least those movies can show things properly, but this drama failed completely.

Overall, I disliked the last 6 episodes. But, except that the drama was enjoyable to me. I will try to remember only the first 30 episodes of this drama.

Ending- It was not a bad ending. But, the ending I did not expect and want from this drama. ML had amnesia. He forgot everything and everybody. He was a doctor working at the Dahl Chinese Hospital in Africa. FL missed him so much in the last few months but did not know his whereabouts. She visited Africa Hospital in the hope that she would meet ML and she met him there. But ML forgot everything. She didn't want to leave the place. They had a talk. ML asked her to go with him on a team hiking with others. FL agreed.
At the top of the hill, they had the last conversation. Where ML asked her, "Why did you become a doctor". She said, "It's a secret", later FL said that it was because of him, she became a doctor. Then ML said, "I heard you have a crush on me". FL then agreed.

My take: Well, I can't accept this amnesia plot. It destroyed everything that this show built so far. ML became a completely new character that he was not before. In a sense, It's a happy ending. We can see, ML has a clear interest in FL. And, about FL we always know ML is the only person she wants. So, clearly, they will get back together in no time and get a new beginning and a new happy ending.

But, I just can't accept this. Both ML and FL deserved much better than this.

Watched the last 6 episodes (raw) in duboku. Did not watch properly but only watched the key moments. Might watch episodes with english subtitles when all the episodes are released and only if I have enough time. I must say, I'm thoroughly disappointed by the ending and the last 6 episodes. I would just consider, this drama has only 30 episodes and episode 30 was the last episode. Spoilers below:

Yeah, It seems like he knows, he has no chance. I think, he just has too much free time and now wants to spend his time making ML jealous.
Yup, the New doctor is probably his new love interest. Actually, just like us writers also felt sorry for him. So, they gave him a new love interest.

It's sad, how a few people are talking about only the bad things about this drama. But what they fail to understand, for some other people and for new viewers, the experience of this drama could be completely different.

I guess, some people watched too many dramas, They have some preconceptions or they want to judge the dramas quickly without properly watching them. This might happen when you watch too many dramas. And some people just like to have different opinions compared to others. Also, nowadays typical dramas follow a pattern. You see a flawless ML character, who desperately chases FL for the whole drama. FL is like denying the ML for the first half of the drama. Whenever we see some anomaly from that, we might not like it. In real life, people are unique. Not all are the same.

I wouldn't say the drama is perfect. There are some problems with it. There were some things, that were pretty questionable. Well, many things that happen in our real life are sometimes questionable too.

If I was asked about the overall drama, I would say, the drama is pretty enjoyable. Its not your typical drama, but it is a damn good drama. I would obviously recommend this. I would suggest that new viewers watch it without listening to others. You watch the drama; you like it or not it depends on you. Don't believe in others but believe in your own judgment.

As you mentioned the surgery, I have questions about the surgery. The surgery happened in another hospital. Ruan was treating the OR like her hospital's OR. Also, Dr. Ning just came out of nowhere and went straight to OR without any authorization and started surgery out of nowhere. Suppose we have to accept these things. As this is a drama after all. :D

I think, they started filming in 2019. But when they finished filming, I don't know

I got sad seeing the masks and pandemic stuff. I just hate seeing those masks again. I hope they didn't change the story too much to make the drama shoot during covid times.

Same here, excited for the next episodes. Many sweet moments coming in the next 2 episodes.

I'm also a bit worried about the last 6 episodes. From the ep 31 preview, we can see that COVID-19 hit China during that time. I'm afraid they might have changed the script and story to a certain extent to fit it shoot during COVID time. We might see fewer skinship and sweet moments compared to what they initially intended.

Anyway, super excited for the next 2 episodes.

Yes, they finally get together. Plenty of sweet moments are coming. Also 6 episodes left after that. So, they might have to create new subplots and some other things to fill those episodes.

It becomes so ridiculous. I guess this guy will never move on. ML and FL will get married and have children. But, we will see our not-so-busy lawyer still chasing FL.

Doctors refusing surgeries is one of the most common themes in any Asian dramas (Kdramas, Cdramas, Jdramas). In all the medical dramas you can see, a few patients (with critical surgery survival rates) are changing hospitals and doctors. Nobody wants to do the surgery on them. At last, our hero comes to save the patient. This is not the first time it happened, and this is not the last time it will happen. It happens all the time in all medical dramas.
