i agree.. i couldnt react properly because it was so absurd and out of place.. like there are shows and movies where a death happens and we may not like it, but at least the writing made sense. but for this it was out of nowhere they just threw it in there casually. im disappointed tbh... coz i love this show except for the 2 random stupid plot turns they suddenly decided to take

seriously wtf.. it just seems so out of place??? literally why would he do that it doesn't make sense ... i was genuinely shocked.. like i thought when he said "you don't have to worry" or whatever on the phone that he meant he would take the blame at the questioning. there's like no reason he would kill himself ksdjfk and he just gonna leave his family like that ? its just not realistic..

hngg i know. other people arent my sole deciding factor but it doesnt mean i wont take it into consideration, especially when people have the same complaints that i have about other shows. as i said i was browsing, it wasnt something i was set in stone on watching to begin with.

(old or new ). and ikr?? im enjoying chief of staff sooo much and the music always makes everything seem so epic and dramatic too when ppl are basically battling each other

I just have one question. I don't really get why Gu Dongmae cut off Aesin's hair ?? Like I don't get what he gained from it really.
I know at the very end of the show he was glad that even his negative actions left a mark/impression on Aesin. But that wasn't his intention when he did them it was just the aftermath, and I don't really think that reason can be used to explain the haircut thing
I'm probably just dense but I'm still confused as to why he cut her hair or what his intention was in doing so

i really really liked this show and don't know where to go from here. (i usually like dark/crime/noir etc shows and this was my first japanese drama~ i watched million yen women after this show and now need something new again)

is anyone else watching Prison Playbook which jung kyungho is in and noticed that in episode 9 they called shin jaeha's character "박사 아들" aka "doctor's son"...

i see a lot of discourse about the ending and i think that i wouldnt have been happy either if it ended with him being erased from history & her forgetting him completely. but i see that scene of the random old lady version of haram dying and getting taken by 444 leaves many unhappy too.

i feel like maybe an alternative ending to that or his existence being erased could've been a better compromise. its just my personal opinion/preference but i wish that it ended with his body being found and he goes to heaven. because moogang's mom wrote about everything in her suicide note so i'm pretty sure they could have gotten his body from that ?? PLUS they literally somehow had cctv footage of him jumping off a cliff, so even without that footage they would have investigated the bottom of that cliff and found his original young body. like they still could have had the scene of sentencing him to be forgotten but right before he's erased from memories/existence, his body is found and then he ends up being allowed to go to heaven instead

people are arguing that the good ending would have been just him being forgotten for killing people without that last 5 minute scene. but the thing is, i think 444 killing people was too out of place to begin with ? like he didnt go through all that just to kill those petty people.. if he was going to murder a human he would have killed everyone else that harmed haram once his feelings for her solidified to begin with. and you may argue, oh but he was going to kill that presidential candidate. well the fact that he didn't have to because he was already dead, that was all for nothing if they made him a murderer anyways..

tldr: i think both the actual ending of old lady haram remembering him right at death and the original planned ending of him being forgotten for good had some issues, and i think a better ending would have been his body being found in the last minute of his sentence so that he can actually go to heaven instead. and then they could have made it so he said his goodbye to haram with her knowing everything and him saying he forgives her etc, so that way we could have still a happy (as possible in this situation) last scene with the 2 of them together.

at first i thought it was april 4 2004 but i never really thought about it after that initial reaction as i was watching the show. though that still wouldnt match since everything was 20 years ago

love this kid so much..

i like sad shows too and sometimes i feel that if it made me cry the show did its job, but there are some that are just so depressing that its too much
like cain and abel was really good but took me months to finish bc it was just so much to watch at once. i would sometimes take 1 month breaks between episodes. meanwhile other shows i could finish in a few days or a week if i really wanted

her acting in stranger was exceptional... truly underrated

i finished this show and im so sad... jo seungwoo was incredible and i desperately need to see more of him, but he only has 2 other tv shows. horse doctor doesn't seem like my cup of tea.. has anyone seen god's gift? i saw a few iffy comments about it
or does anyone else have any jo seungwoo recommendations (movies would be good too)

i havent watched stranger yet but ive seen the other two and highly highly recommend tunnel. it's honestly the perfect show imo. the structure is good, great acting/plot/writing, amazing twists, good pacing, and also really good closure.
defendant is good too and i would get to watching that afterwards as well but tunnel was exceptional.

just one question though. where was hayeon when seongkyu was in prison? or like who was taking care of her
i know he was like "my little sister is sick i need to get out asap" and he was really talking about hayeon. but like he was in prison for like weeks/months so its too much time for the explanation to be something along the lines of "oh she just stayed by herself for a night or 2 and ate the food i left her in the fridge"
maybe they explained where she was for that time at some point the show but if they did i missed that.. so i was wondering if anyone knows or if they just didn't show an explanation for that
