it's so refreshing to see engfa without glasses, the scene when lada stepped on apo's glasses by accident cracked me up. lada's dad is so misogynist against his own daughter, that's crazy
episode 3 was extremely a chef's kiss, there's so many analogies and hidden messages behind their interactions, almost like they're dancing around the real touchy subjects. loved their relationship progression during this ep., it felt natural and apo's icy cold exterior melted down so much that she felt lada was trustworthy enough to talk about her struggles/fears while picking out her suit colors.
ep. 3's "flashback" cinematography threw me off - for example; bonnie's/baiphor's memories with her crush on shasha. it wasn't in the first two eps., did girl rules get a new editor?
the ost was the only good thing about this series...the couples' issues keep jumping back and forth, the show with couples made no sense. it was like they went on vacation. the second couple's AI girl looked too unnatural - please get rid of the contact lenses. they made her look soulless although i did like her character the most! and the man was so annoying, he can't act for his life and couldn't face reality.
Ep.3 was a mess, scared of a cockroach is a sad excuse and Ing's sudden change of heart about Lin taking over the Play Park makes no sense after what she did in Ep. 2. The sudden physical affection with each other was out of the blue, there wasn't enough detailed verbal communication before they started kissing each other on the cheek. Lin briefly mentions, "I've taken a liking to you," ? and Ing doesn't even say much how she feels towards Lin, she's just giggling and silent most of the time??? A whole nothingburger and wordslop to fill in the gaps. She does her usual balloons and food delivery/matcha drinks. I get it, actions speak louder than words but this has happened in the past Ep, we need some deeper, inner thoughts here. Plus the secretary giving a random man her boss' car keys, really? That's a red flag and practically asking for termination.
Ing's character is too infantilized for me. It's like looking at a teenager, even though she's a mother.
I'm 6 episodes in so far and where are Sonoko's parents the whole time? Every single one of the kids' parents are just not in their lives?
Edit: Ending doesn't surprise me much, Sonoko's coworkers always seemed too close yet distant when they were helping her out with her problems outside of work.
Ms. CEO has been reeled in - actually liked the 2nd ep as the misunderstanding clears up quick and Ing's past is slowly being unrevealed, her husband is a nasty piece of work. Lin is fast to decipher Ing's calculative plans and gauging situations. Talk about a real lover!
Watched Kokuho in theaters, quite slow at times but the storytelling was very packed - each character had their flaws for sure but that meant they made difficult decisions and life can come at you very quickly.
Kikuo endured a lot of unfairness and loss, but so did Shunsuke. I'm impressed that their relationship was portrayed in a brotherhood way, not enemies despite their different backgrounds. They handled their frustrations and moments of weakness with pride for each other when they had their confrontations. Kikuo's undying love for kabuki is amazing as he did not once give up on it during those long years of hardship.
Finished watching this, things got slow midway as each person spoke about how they knew Sarah Kim and her other personas. Shouldn't be confusing that Kim Minjeong is the person who died as she didn't have a kidney scar and calloused hands from her leather craftsmaking. Only 10 years in jail for killing someone is kind of crazy, that's Korea's justice system for you.
emi's guest appearance to sing More Than Words was a nice treat, although i'm surprised bonnie wasn't at her party lol
film does a fantastic job portraying bambi's unstable emotions and psychological state as ep. 4's revelation appears
gorya's hit and run at shasha's place lmaooo
