Unfortunately, yes, this is a very common thing in asian families, especially in the north eastern parts. It has come to a point where the lines of 'I want my kid to sustain themself when they grow up' and 'I want my kid to fulfill the dream I couldn't' are now so blurred that parents don't care about what their kids actually want or need anymore :'D

probably because it doesn't appeal to most of the general public, some people found it quite boring. Not the case for everyone tho, if one likes slow-paced realistic dramas then this one's for them

I'm only at the early episodes still but one thing I can confirm for you is that the acting is quite good! I went in expecting some usual cliche cheesy stuff but was pleasantly surprised by the realistic acting. Even the dental surgery scenes are very realistic - I caught myself with my mouth a little agape too when the mc was having her surgery done with her mouth wide open lmao

They're finally subbing it on YoYo English Channel but it's still not available in all the countries. Ep 1 premiered today.

This drama rang all the sirens for me to drop it as soon as they released the trailer. In one scene in the trailer (this scene probably hasn't aired yet) Mu Ren says to Li Cheng, that if he were female, then what LC did at the hot springs would be considered sexual harassment. And then LC proceeds to respond with "so since you're a guy, it's not sexual harassment?" and then he gets closer to him. HELL NAH. That's a no from me. I still didn't entirely drop the drama cuz they didn't show much of the brothers' dynamic in the trailer so my curiosity got the better of me. But now reading this clears it up. Thanks a lot. The writers managed to make the brothers' somehow even more problematic. wow. Just how hard is it to write a simple screenplay about some good lgbtq+ representation instead of this bs ugh...it makes me sick
