Really loved Yang Mi's posters!! Her makeup is just WOW. Tbh, I was really looking forward to Yuan Bingyan's collab with Yang Mi. But I know Zhu Xudan would do a great job. Every fandom has crazy people... but I would still like to say sorry to everyone who had to deal with all the stress and negativity. Yby HERSELF is friends with Dilraba and I'm sure Yby wanted to cooperate with Yang Mi. Since it's probably not possible, I'm looking forward to see Zhu Xudan.
Just finished it-- wasn't perfect, but I liked it. I enjoyed how the drama revolved around broken families, divorce, romance, sibling relationships, and childhood friends. It definitely felt all over the place at times but I like the variety of events and characters. What happened at the end traumatized me a bit, but it was important to see why it is important for everyone to move on from the past. I enjoyed seeing the different experiences all the characters had while in their youth. Growing up feels both exciting and nostalgic.
I think he absolutely nails the evil guy role. His expression and the look in his eye just shows that he's up to no good in Scarlet Heart and Under the Power. The way he plays antagonist roles come up really natural and don't seem exaggerated at all. And in Lost Love in Times, he was also very convincing as a fatherly mentor figure. I've never seen him in a main role but his acting range and charisma really capture my attention.
Fun fact: Yuan Bingyan and Dilireba are good friends since college (Shanghai Theatre Academy) and even shared a dorm together. They slept in a bunk bed. There's also pics of them going to a bakery together and taking graduation photos, along with actor Mi Re. In August 2020, Dilireba reposted the L&R Chu Xuanji poster on her Weibo to support Bingyan and encourage others to watch the drama. I could be wrong but I think in episode 2 the emperor mentioned that TI Lan is the empress' younger sister. And the empress was his first love, Zi Zan.

That's true, I do want to know more about the emperor's past. I know I'm kinda curious why the ML wants to help the emperor so much. He carries out the emperor's orders no matter how he's treated. I wonder if he's planning something no one knows about.

I'm into the more subtle romance so it works out for me. My problem is with the secondary couples. I cannot stand them at all. Their relationship is either toxic or make no sense at all. And don't even get me started on Xiao Tai and Gao Mengfei. I tried tolerating them for a couple episodes but I can't do it anymore. Ming He and Jia Ruo are at least interesting as individuals.
It's such a pity too, since I love the acting, costumes, design, and cinematography. Maybe I'm lacking patience rn but the secondary couples are just annoying.
