I'd say they officially meet, like talk to each other on chapter 43. But they have casually seen each other in the early chapter. I think it was on chapter 15 but i wouldn't say they actually met because only one knew who the other is😊.

In my opinion, it isn't really a plothole. It's more on like it's the way some people think. To some it might be more logical to do what you said, but to some it's way more easier to do things like what happened in the drama.
