That's might be true for everyone else but for me, watching The Lost Tomb 2015 is the whole reason why i started to like and get interest in these Grave Robber Chronicles.

Yes, yes. I feel the same too. But so far i like every Zhang Qiling in every seasons and adaptations they have done. Personally, my favorite Zhang Qiling should be the one played by Yang Yang but the rest is not bad too. For Wu Xie, its might be my bias but i like the one acted by Hou Ming Hao. I like watching him as Wu Xie, naive and innocence but if my memory serve right, the actual Wu Xie in the book is not that naive and innocence as he is in Lost Tomb 2, lol.

The order is like what Star Kongbini said;

- Mystic Nine (2016) [50 years before the main event]
- Lost Tomb 1 (2015) [story from Book 1]
- Lost Tomb 2: Explore with the Note (2019) [story from book 2 & 3]
- Lost Tomb 2: Heavenly Palace on the Cloud (not yet released) [book 4]
- Lost Tomb 3 : Ultimate Chronicles (not yet released) [book 5,6 &7]
- Tibetan Sea Flower (not yet released) [5 years after main event]
- Tomb of The Sea (2018) [9 years after main event]
- Lost Tomb Reboot/Reunion [10 year after]

The difference between them
- Mystic Nine is story center around Fo Ye (leader of Old Nine Family)
- Lost Tomb is center around Wu Xie
- Tomb of The Sea is center around Li Cu

Its a plot continuation but the ending of first season kinda derive from the original but lost tomb 2 going back to its original plot. I think you need to watch first season to watch this one because the first one introduce about Wu Xie relation with Zhang Qiling. But then again, thats all what is important in season one so if if you dont want to watch it, in my opinion, its okay too.

Oh, sorry.. its my mistake. Its as you said, Zhang Rishan is part of Zhang family. He inherited Qilin blood after all. Is he part of of original story or not, im not sure (but i think he is). I never read any of the side story books (story about Old Nine Gates and Li Cu), i only read main story books. Zhang Qilin suppose to be the founder of Nine Gates from what i know and somehow, the Old Nine doesnt work as it suppose to be.
Sorry, this is really not answering any of your questions at all, lol.. what can i do, im also wondering as you are. So many mystery about Zhang family, there is not much revealing about it in main stories (Zhang Qilin is really not a talkative guy, not to mention his memories come and goes so there is not much about it).

* Its me commenting this with only reading a few of the novels and some others comments from those who already read far ahead. Maybe i am bullshiting all this but, this is what i understand from what i read before.

For all we know, the novels never finish so the story end with cliff hanger ( lots of questions with no answer). I also have a list of curious questions but from what i understand, Zhang Qilin is the only one completing the duty (related to the "secret") is because the Old Nine Gates families fail their duty. The Old Nine Gates was formed to help Zhang's family take over the duty (from what i know is related to where Zhang Qiling is right now, being guardian of the dead). The Old Nine families supposed to send their representatives to do what Zhang family originally do (rotating representatives from each families to go into grave) in exchange of Zhang family protected the other eight. That how it is but, somehow, the rest eight family didnt do their duty and that how the current Old Nine Gates become. This custom end and the current families dont know about this anymore. And Zhang Rishan is not from main Zhang family, so, maybe Zhang Qishan (Fo Ye) never have the opportunity to tell him or, maybe he also dont know about this from the beginning.
About Black Glasses, well, im also curious about him. From what i know, his first appearance was with Zhang Qilin, he is related to Zhang Qilin but im not sure if he is part of Zhang family.

Kennedy Xu is something too, releasing so many stories about this but not one is properly finish!?‍♀️?‍♀️

Hey, hey fellow! Haha.. To be honest, usually while i'm watching any drama, i dont usually think about their ages. I always assume they are old enough, unless when i discover their actually age/ or the age their characters should be (like when i read all this comments); then i will keep thinking about it while watching. All these actors, some are too young, some are way older but have a baby face... hmm

Same liner. I thought the same too but as i scrolled down, i read someone commented that the age of concern for Thailand is 15 so i gonna swallow my concern for these babies actors and just gonna ignore/forget their age while watching (gonna pretend that they all old enough or else i cant watch at all, lol).

I like all HIStory Series but somehow when i watched this one, i cant focus at all. It because from the first time i watched Yu Si Gu, i keep thinking of that he is too thin. And i kept thinking that way all the time i saw him. Thin, skinny, not eating enough, anorexia?, and such... lol. And that the ending.. hm, im speechless :(

I only watch a few episodes but so far so good (cant comment anything yet since i only watched a few) ~ Yup, I really like investigation drama. I already watched Ding Mo's Love Me If You Dare, When A Snail fall In Love and Memory Lost. They are really good. I also watched Dr. Qin, Evil Mind and a few others chinese investigation drama. Even Tientsin Mystic also a good one too. I just check out Miss Truth synopsis, turn out i already read a few chapters of its novel before, lol. So, i will definitely watch Miss Truth later :) P.s, if you also like investigation drama and haven't watched the drama i mentions here, you should try it.

Yes, im watching SCI and The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty for now. I will try watching Miss Truth later. I like watching about crime investigation and other similar genre, so thank you for your recommendation :)

I am one of the fan of 'always the same cast'. Somehow, i like to watch stories which have casts reunion all over again despite the story is good or not. I guess im just a weird one. lol. For the story pace, well, there is nothing we can do, just gonna get use to it. Chinese drama tend to have their story overdone, too much unnecessary scenes. Not only this drama, there are tons of others chinese drama like this, with unnecessary scenes and dialogues filters. Nevertheless, i like this story so its all good for me^^.

yup, i thought the same too. When i first watched this, i really hope Lianchen to end up with Gu YanZhen. Each time Xie Xiang in trouble and i wish YanZhen is the one to be hero and save her but Jun Shan come out everytime. But at the second half when my wish come true (both of them together), somehow when Lianchen in trouble, i starting to wish JunShen are the one that come out saving her. lol^^

He is good in Joy of Life. I'm looking forward to see him in Douluo Continent as young Tan San.
