I'm going to divide this review into directing, screenplay and acting. But since P10L has a more specific dynamic of couple arcs, I'll also sub-divide each topic into the arcs while still analyzing it as a whole.
This series is based on a novel, a comedy novel, I have to say. And that's the whole point of Perfect 10 Liners: it's really, really funny. I'm talking about both the series and the novel. I really recommend it. And yes, I loved it. It's not even a spoiler of this review, you can already see I gave it a 9/10. That missing point though is about the directing and the screenplay.
The series is directed by New, the mind behind some hits in the BL world like Until We Meet Again, Love by Chance, A Boss and a Babe, and so many others. But in some of these works, there's something that bugs me. He's kind of stiff? If you're going to talk about sensitive topics, you need to understand the depth of them, and that's a huge failure in P10L. They touch on emotional stuff all the time. Not trigger warning-level stuff, if you're sensitive, go ahead, it's not that type of sensitive. But things like emotional repression, mommy issues, childhood trauma. And yet they handle it all so light-heartedly. Which makes sense since it's a comedy, but personally, I don’t agree with how they chose to do it. You can be funny and easygoing without making things look oversimplified.
In that aspect, the YothaGun and FaifaWine arcs were the weakest. Gun had serious childhood trauma, and both Yotha and Faifa have intense mommy issues. I'm not even gonna get into Wine’s issues with himself, which is actually the worst part because Wine is a complex character as hell and they treated his problems like they were super easy to fix. Like ????
But then, ArcArm. SO GOOD. They were incredibly funny, my tummy hurt from laughing every time they showed up. And they were soooo healthy. I loved them so much. The way that they're so sweet with each other.
To not say that I just criticize New, if you look at the cast, the only newbie to him was Junior. He had already worked with ForceBook in A Boss and a Babe, with Perth in Love By Chance, with Santa in My Only 12%, and with Mark in Sky In Your Heart. He’s the great mind who suggested PerthSanta when Chimon backed out of the role, since he already knew them through WabiSabi gigs and My Only 12% (RIP SantaEarth, but we also love our new couple). And oh my god. PerthSanta is probably the biggest hit GMM has had in 2025, period. Anyway, since New already knew all of them and their acting styles, he handled them so well and helped them fall naturally into their roles. It’s really interesting to watch.
The acting overall? So good. Everyone really owned their characters. ForceBook kills it in comedy, like I said before, that’s their strongest suit. I always knew Perth was a good actor, but Santa really surprised me. His character is super sweet, and when it comes to emotional scenes, he slayed. But honestly, Junior is the best surprise. I had seen him before in Midnight Museum, and his versatility is amazing. Which makes sense, since he's an ex-Nadao Bangkok actor. (Seriously, it’s incredible how everyone from Nadao was amazing. The biggest talent factory Thailand has ever had. We miss you, queen.) He’s also hilarious. Faifa was the best thing in P10L. I LOVE MARK SO MUCH, but I gotta admit he’s still a little stiff. You can really see him getting more relaxed as the episodes go on, getting more used with doing romantic scenes with JuJu. Their chemistry is so good. I think it’s just a matter of getting more comfortable, and their future projects will definitely be amazing.
In summary, even with some issues, this is one of my favorite series EVER. And honestly, it was never meant to focus on the drama. It’s a comedy. AND SUCH A GOOD ONE. I laughed so much, it was an incredible experience. I’ll miss them every day.
Really hoping we get an Our Skyy next year maybe?
