oh wow! i had no clue they obtained their license just today, how funny since we are talking about it here.

you’re right about modern dramas vs historical though. fewer modern dramas take so long to come out (although i think that one with cheng yi from youku was filmed in 2020 and just started airing) so it just depends on the situation i guess.

i know what you mean 😭 sometimes it feels like dramas you’re waiting on come out when you’re busy, and when you have free time there’s no dramas you were waiting on coming out

yeah, ikr. i could be wrong but i feel like i’ve learned that sometimes cdramas take a while to air because they are waiting for the “right” time to air it. but i wish they wouldn’t do that, especially if it’s all done and ready to go.

unsure if this one obtained its license already though, maybe that’s the problem? 🤔 doesn’t seem like there are any materials that would make it hard for it to pass though. hopefully we will see it soon.

from my understanding she unfortunately got an injury (unsure as to how) and needs a surgery which will take 12 weeks to heal.

i guess production and drama cannot wait so they replaced her with another actress, but i wonder how much they have filmed already and will have to reshoot. it’s a shame, i hope she heals well soon. ❤️

well, i finished it! i feel so sad now honestly.

i have always heard about boys over flowers (k-version) but never watched it even when i first started getting into dramas. in 2021 i decided to watch hana yori dango because why the heck not! i ended up loving it, and watched the 2nd season in 2022. now, i've watched the final movie in 2023! so i feel like i've spent a long time with these characters, so i'll for sure miss them a lot!

i totally understand now why this version is so well-praised and viewed as a classic, it is totally deserving.

the writers have just been phoning in the entire last part of this drama and you can’t change my mind. it’s just annoying cause like, i’d rather the last few episodes be “boring” filler because maybe at least we would see some of the leads relationship.

the ending is going to be CRAZY rushed

yeah, i know. i try not to avoid watching stuff bc of writers though, i have liked dramas written by "bad script" writers so i like to give things a fair shot. and sometimes i've disliked dramas by screenwriters i thought i liked! so, i try to proceed with caution but also not hold too much bias.

viki has a lot of recent dramas from iqiyi (at least in my region) so i don't think that's why, it could just be another licensing reason or iqiyi just didn't want to share it

I wonder what took it so long to be released! But yeah, you can just tell. From the styling to the filters and even the way the poster is edited, it all screams 2015-16.
