Title 5 to 9 From Five to Nine Spoiler
The acting is good but what's with yamapi's character attitude?! I can't enjoy the dorama because of his excessive stalking and possesive way of behaving. Do Japanese girls believe it's "cute" for the guy to ask to reject junko's application for the USA thing even though she was first and it was her life dream because he couldn't "keep away from her"? And why do they keep on taking her by arm by force when they want to talk to her, she's got her own legs you know? Oh well, everything's fine as long as she gets a pair of Jimmy Choo as a present. It's not like women have a brain or a sense of judgement, we only love he whom buys us expensive shoes!!!

The acting is superb but the way they changed light's character is a big no no for me. I can't see how they are…
I will wait and see how it develops, indeed. Still, I didn't like their trying to dramatise the whole thing (the bullying story, the thing where he has to kill the kidnapper otherwise his father will get killed, his mother dying and moreover with his father being absent, light's reactions to the shinigami and to the entire killing bussiness). None of this is present in the manga (which you might not like and you have all the rights to) and I simply don't like it because of this... I believe they changed too many characteristics of the main character and plot just to have that dramatic effect which, imho, is better achieved with the more "plain" and original story. Light doesn't have to have a terrible past of bullying + a horrible family background and no future prospectives to become kira. (as if this would justify him in anyway.) What's powerful in the manga is that he doesn't need any of this, he's smart, he's popular with girls (not chasing around idols as in this dorama) but still don't consider them because he is cold and cynical and very very calculative. He could do ANYTHING he want, and his true aim is to become a detective/policeman to defy evil. It's way more obvious in the manga why such a person would try to become kira. He simply does it because he is narcisistic, and a idealist. Which is not displayed in any way in the dorama. Also because he was "bored" and thought the world was "rotten" (his first line in the manga, thus carrying some importance). I am not attacking those who liked it and I am glad you did, but I personally didn't enjoy and hope this will become better. I didn't like the films as well nor the anime ending, so to be fair. For me the true masterpiece is the manga. Thanks for reading!

The acting is superb but the way they changed light's character is a big no no for me. I can't see how they are going to develop all the strategy games between the two of them when he's just an average boy. The whole manga revolved around his incredible intelligence (which is also the thing that brings him to work with the police while being kira at the same time, how are they going to justify it here?) I don't know. Plus he lacks here the cold blood which Light immediately develops in the manga after his decision of becoming Kira. I know they probably wanted to render his character more relatable and human, but the appeal of him in the manga is EXACTLY that he his not "human" once he decides to be Kira, instead he's cold set on his mission, discarding morals. Will wait to see how this develops but so far I am not impressed, the only one I found actually believable was L's character. Didn't like Misa at all.

This dorama is so well done. Not only the plot is very intriguing, but yamapi's acting is excellent. I think that he's trying to scroll off his idol image by trying to take more challenging roles, and he shows here just how talented he is! The other actors, too, are very natural. Liking this very much!
