i want to watch this but i don't want annoying love triangle or crazy villain so pls spoil me does this drama…
There are definitely a lot of "love triangles" in this drama, but the main couple will remain undisturbed throughout the entire drama. Main couple makes it clear to each other quickly that they love each other, each time there is such misunderstanding. It is clear that the "second leads" make absolutely 0 chance.
There is a lot of character A loves B, but B loves C, but C loves D etc. , but these complex love triangles don't really get developed much as they involve almost all the side characters.
That book club analogy is spot on. Overall it is a well thought out and executed drama, but obvious flaws will…
Steven's emotional scenes were honestly so heartbreaking to see and I also became a fan of his after finishing this drama. Skate Into Love was already high on my to-watch list, as I am a big fan of Janice Wu (after watching Le Coup De Foudre), but my expectation of that drama is sky high now. Feels like it can't be bad with those 2 excellent actor/actress as lead couple.
I've got a lot of thoughts now that the drama has reached its end but first and foremost, a round of applause…
That book club analogy is spot on. Overall it is a well thought out and executed drama, but obvious flaws will keep down the rewatch value.
I also agree that Steven Zhang was the best performer in the younger cast, while Tu Song Yan showed a phenomenal 10/10 acting job of his character. Also shout-out to Yang Tong Shu(Cheng Ting), it's been a long time since i hated a drama character this much.
I wouldn't call it a terrible ending, just the treatment of which was very rushed. The skeleton is there, but…
I agree that the ending ¨makes senses¨, but executed terribly, so it leaves a lot to be desired. Within 30 minutes, it goes from CT realizing her wrongdoing of years, suicide attempt, 1 month time jump, suddenly is on good terms with everyone. I wish it showed more of CT talking things out with LX (and CZ), making small efforts to be a better person and slowly warming up to JJ.
I just got recommended YT video titled "Xiao Cheng Zi is the real life version of ZQ" talking about how Song Fuan Yuan(actress playing CZ) went through the same pain as ZQ.
(https://youtu.be/IF-_PLFhNKM?t=194) As a baby, her biological parents abandoned her on the streets, but luckily her now parents took her in, and treated her as their own child. She talks about how her biggest goal is to work hard and give her parents a better life, before it's too late to repay them properly for adopting her. Blood really doesn't matter when it's family :(
LX finally speaking up to his mom (even for the wrong reason) was so satisfying. It's so great that they showed their life in Singapore, since it gives more context on why LX/CZ became the way they are. In general, I wish they showed more of what happened to everyone during the 9-year skip. My favorite scene is probably when ZQ teaches CZ those life lessons. And I wish the storywriting saved that self-slapping scene for LX' mom.
Also, I hoped that the last few episodes would be drama-less, but based the previews it is quite the opposite. This drama could easily be 10+ episodes longer. There are so many things that are unanswered/finished.
Some thoughts...First, I do understand Ling Xiao's mom at some point. She wants to be near her child and tries…
I think you're right on why CZ likes being around ZQ. ZQ is so strict with her, but still cares about her a lot. He made sure she did not go out his restaurant alone, since he feels 100% responsible for her at that point, while LX did not even care that she strolled around town alone or if she even reached the hotel, the day before. CZ also finally sees how a happy, functional family works in ZQ.
I also half-expecting CZ to tell LX about her one-sided love, and LX freaking out about his sister crushing on his brother xD
Can someone explain why LX kissed JJ in front of his mom ?
Since LX' mom insists on staying anyways, LX makes it clear to her that JJ is a big part of his life here, so he better start accepting her if she wants to live here.
小橙子 made a (background) appearance in all the episode 39/40 previews. I wonder if this is pure coincidence, or if she is going to be shown more in the upcoming episodes!
Honestly the dramatic music in the episode preview made me expect much worse from the dinner scene, but in the end it was just such a few not-so-nice comments said in a half-jokingly manner and an uncomfortable scene. And ZQ character and life philosophy.. he totally got that from his mom.
Do you know what the lil sis said to ZQ? I bet she hurt him. I cannot stand it. ugh
from the preview episode 37/38
MY: My brother said you made the birthday cake, my mom told me to pick it up ZQ: There is no need for that, I will bring it with me this evening MY: You don't have to, just give it to me *MY orders coffee* MY: How much for this? ZQ: It's on the house. (no need to pay money) MY: My mom told me i have to pay, since you're open for business.

Finally someone who is confident when she set a goal xD

And i know 小橙子 is a polarizing character, but i´m happy to see more of her.
