On Love beyond the Grave 4 days ago
Just finished chapter 15 and am considering dropping - I am not enjoying the void at all and their relationship seems to have stalled. Can anyone convince me to persist?

I liked this series (loved Ryoma as usual) but the last episode left me a bit cold. The connection between Nara and the case 23 years ago really came out of nowhere - and did not do much for the story or even her character. In addition, I could not really feel happy for Junichi and Makiko - I can’t even explain why. Overall though, it was a good watch and a decent example of the genre.

So far Netflix shown ep 8 on Mar 3rd or 4th (Australia). TV Asahi Mar 10th. So Netflix users will know 1 week…
Thanks for the update fellow Netflix Australia viewer!

I doubt that us Australian watchers will get it any earlier- Netflix probably hasn’t updated the schedule yet. Unfortunately, this show and its audience are not really a priority for them.

Was there a need for the female detective to be this idiosyncratic? No, in my opinion.
I can see your point, but I think it does allow for certain things. Her idiosyncratic behaviour makes her unpredictable, adding to the intensity of the show more broadly. In addition, it certainly gives her leeway to do what she likes - we’ve all been in workplaces where certain people get away with stuff because leadership don’t really know how to deal with them, due to their character or behaviour .She is getting away with alot and this might be the reason.

Me and my sister think the same too, that Naoto is in love with Junichi.
Could be true because aren’t we all a bit in love with Junichi?

I didn’t mind this but so much of the plot was unconvincing or unnecessary (or both). It’s also the first time I haven’t fallen for Kim Seon Ho’s character in a drama. Having said that, I was impressed by his Italian language skills!

This was my first cdrama - and I became absolutely obsessed. In hindsight, I have admitted some serious flaws with it (grandpa story unnecessary, Sang Yan’s obsession being a bit too much for me, some Sang Yan red flag moments etc), but something about Sang Yan and Wen Yifan just made me forget all that and love it anyway. Loved them as teenagers and loved their reunion. Have become a big Bai Jingting fan too.

I will watch anything with Park Hyung Sik but I really didn’t understand what this was all about.

So nice to delve into a workplace drama that steers clear of workplace romance and the drama it creates. BJT is wonderful as always, showing his versatility yet again.

Drama was a bit slow and drawn out - but I discovered Park Hyung Sik (by far the standout actor among the cast here) which made it somewhat worth it.

I watched this show after falling down the BJT rabbit hole post TFF. I absolutely loved everything about it and fell even harder for him! Quality viewing that I would recommend more broadly (ie. not just to fans of asian dramas).

I watched this show because it was written by the same person who wrote Crash Landing On You. I was disappointed to say the least, though I acknowledge that many people loved it. I was not one of those people.

If it weren’t for the ML and the urban tropics aesthetic, I would have dropped this drama. I found the FL’s character shallow, the story drawn out and I could not quite get over the step sibling thing. The ML kept me in it - he was divine.

Is the love triangle between the ML, FL, and SML really necessary? I know these love triangles are a staple in…
I agree - totally unnecessary. The SML’s story was tragic enough without it.
