I don't think anyone of us here is supporting the cancellation, everyone (mostly) here is literally like hey i hope they change the problematic parts, speak more and the drama gets released that's it. Some (minority including me) agree with knets accusations and some don't. No one as far as i have read here is supporting bullying or cancel culture, please they are just very heavy words don't just throw them over the internet on just anyone because your thinking and their thinking is not same.

Hmmm as far as my understanding goes and google describes is " Fiction generally is a narrative form, in any medium, consisting of people, events, or places that are imaginary—in other words, not based strictly on history or fact. " let's pay more attention to the " not based strictly on history or fact ". Hope it's clear for you now, it is not based on history which is what is happening here, some things here are definately based on history.
I agree though that history can't be portrayed perfectly but i still believe it should be. People here in this case have time to change so they should. Don't you think that this issue or in particular this movement is a bit sensitive to be adapted and CHANGED, when their are living victims of this era, making them feel unheard or unseened.

Using historical refferences is NOT WRONG but using it and saying hey we just used it for fiction so we could create our own little romantic melodrama (supposedly ?) is WRONG. Obviously agreed with you on the fact that more such movies and dramas should be made, but at the same time they should be made with ACCURACY and PROPER RESEARCH. However here this drama is not about the historical movement but a mere romantic melodrama in that time which is using all those historical names and events of that era and when the era is such an important part of korean democracy. Their are literally victims of this movement living in the country having major disorders and life long illnesses, suffering from the trauma this time caused them and imagine thier pain ?? And they are going to create a lovestory which involves all what i said ?? The new generation needs to see and learn how important democracy is and how hard it was for their people to win it, which is not what snowdrop is promising, it's going to produce a love story. YES EXACTLY THEY SHOULD USE CINEMA TO EDUCATE GENERATION AND NOT ROMANTICIZE A WHOLE DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT INTO A SUPPOSEDLY BLACK COMEDY MELODRAMA. well black comedy does includes comedy so it's obvious for people to assume they are going to make fun of people and the events.
