for the demographic.... "i think" Gelboys is spot on. i always view the other bl content as....hmm 🤔 fantasy bl's not based in real life, but more like what we wished real life to be. (yet i still faithfully watch 😩)
Gelboys is very....."find some real ppl & have them film their everyday lives" and that's not a bad thing at all. i think i just need to get into the overall vibe.
oh & also, when i watch other content of the same age group...it's usually very.....polished....i think that's the best way i can describe them. also not a bad thing, just less realistic.
i think when we all started our BL journey - we ultimately gravitated towards a particular kind of bl & allowed ourselves to welcome other types into our little circles.
in the last year or, i've moved more towards jbl's. far from where i started.
Gelboys is not my "ideal" bl, but watching/watched ep. 1 with an open mind. i chose not to rate ep. 1. i'll wait for ep. 2 to get a better picture of where this is going.
what i will say is, it's very different from the "usual' bl & for that, i think i'll stick with the entire series & not drop it. actually before ep. 2 airs - i will probably rewatch ep. 1. the music & vibe was pretty cool - also, the story unfolding & pacing is VERY REALISTIC.
well i'll say it & i'm not ashamed to admit it..... i'm not brave enough to watch this series 🫣😂😂 i walked away from this ep in complete shambles 😩 and the preview for next is no better. an emotional rollercoaster!

also Thame & Po have some issues, not together, but past trauma. Thame is controlling & jealous af. clearly Po had a past before Thame. but Po hanging on to the ex. coffee mug. clothes ect. (the clothes were comfortable) DAFUCK? and then you give the new boo clothes to wear from the boo face. make it make sense, but my boy Po said we're gonna fix this ASAP. T O N I G H T.

ep. 11 was by far the best ep thus far....hard to say because the energy has been lit since ep 2. sad to say, i was about to drop it after ep. 1 😩🫣 now we're at the finale.
i hate when i grow with characters & then they disappear. like no....keep telling their story. give me 24 ep's....then 36....keep it going until i'm tired of them.

for anyone new to BL's - wondering if you should watch this (yes you should). personally, i think Like In The Movies should be one of the first 3 dramas you'll watch imo. along with KP & Remember Me.

one thing i’ll say for any work…..when changing between print & screen….i NEVER compare the two. remember, what you see on screen is the vision through someone else’s eyes what YOU interpret through print is your vision. i try to make it a habit when leavings to footnote it with: “this review is only good for me” because the review was written from my perspective
for instance….i think the first BL anyone should watch is Like In The Movies….followed by KinnPorsche….followed by Remember Me (minus the wigs, of course).
i’m sure this list would vary for everyone that watches BL’s.
this BL i rate a solid 10. it’s so interesting to me, clearly a lot of people disagree. remember, that’s okay too, you’re watching it from your perspective.
