I watched the show after reading the novel, and the cast acting was good, but really the plot is too heart-wrenching at some parts. However, at least the end bits were sweet and fluffy and all well that ends well.
The story's pacing seems to be too slow, and the main lead's (you know which one when you watch) facial expressions are too stiff, but other than that, this show is perfect. The secondary and tertiary couple really outshines the main couple, the former with their cute chemistry and the latter with their acting and tragic storyline. The show really did an extremely good job of bringing the novel to life and making me laugh and cry. Overall, this is a good show with good production and not to be missed! (though I would recommend you to put it on 2x speed at some places)
Gave it a high rating because it is a great step forward for Korean bl shows. Sure, the acting is a bit stiff, the adaption of the story is a bit incoherent and out of pace, as they need to fit in a whole novel into a show that is only 8 eps and each episode being extremely short. The cg effects though seem out of place at first sight is actually not that bad, and the setting and concept of the story is really unique. It would be good to read the novel then watch this show, as it does a good job of bringing those scenes to life.
1. It is unlike any other bl shows, for starters, the original novel it was adapted from is written by a real life gay man and not a female fujoshi, and so it focuses on a lot of real life issues. 2. And according to most people, the first 6 episodes were good but after that, everything spiral downhill, both the plot and the production. Well, as I could recall, I think they changed the director or the production/filming team halfway, which is around the time they finish filming the parts in episode 6. 3. The main cast is very young, all 4 of them are underage when filming this drama, so there isn't much intimate scene, and for most of them, it is their first time acting. Despite all these issues, the actors did give in their all, and their acting is still quite promising, and of course, the chemistry between the leads teemork is undeniable.
