The first half (pre edict) - the writers gave us so much that we felt we could trust their decisions for later on but as you said you can’t anymore. Mind you, I’m not saying I’m a drama writer or even at the calibre but there’s so many easy and fruitful choices they could’ve done and just didn’t? Lanxiang not having a reaction when seeing Jinqi or the Lins was easy enough to wave away because it was explained (shown) as compartmentalisation and she had the goal of getting out. However, that compartmentalisation should’ve started breaking down far more significantly and we start to see Lanxiang beneath the curtain and…we just never do

don’t worry I don’t think the writers know what was going on either

The second half of this otherwise great drama has been disappointing. Writers, you can’t just time skip your way out of actual character and plot development 😭

This is a great drama but it’s evident it needed to be longer because less than 10 episodes left and we barely get the romance development of the couple which begs the question why was this advertised as a romance drama. The writers written themselves into corner in some major aspects in terms of themes which is kinda baffling because they’re easy to fix or workaround. Hopefully they stick the landing somewhat okay

The issue wouldn’t be her keeping it secret, it’ll be everyone else. I don’t blame him if he’s not fully trusting of the rest of Li family (I mean I’m sure he’ll change his mind once he finds out about his aunt with Seventh Grandma)

There’s something about the drama that’s very enrapturing to watch, I can’t explain it either. For me it might be my first “business” drama I’ve finished fully maybe because it actually focuses on the craft than business

His real identity would make things very awkward for FL especially since his family hasn’t been pardoned. Moreover someone or anyone would start investigating his identity a little more and there’s no doubt there’s gaps

She wounded his ego very deeply by rejecting him. His pride was far bigger than the love he had for her. It makes sense that he’s willing to go that far to hurt her

No where in the world would that ever be considered 18+ her top was even still on after the sex loool

Same I lasted 10 episodes skipping around a lot. It’s very boring

Great great drama. I would’ve given this a higher rating if not Xiao Qin’s absolute miserable of a marriage. I’m sorry I just didn’t find it believable that everything just became okay after they decided to reconcile after their divorce. Regardless of how immature Xiao Yang was, I felt far more chemistry between these two than with Chen Yu ever. I would’ve likely kept Xiao Qin single after all that

Yeah I know that’s why I said there’s better dramas of this genre that don’t have romance initially

This is very boring I can’t lie. Even just as slice of life drama without a strong romance, there’s better dramas that are far more compelling

And the writer is Japanese which is the most important thing. It goes to show that the problem of kdramas isn’t the production team but the kr writers for sometime now. Also kr version had a big problem of lacking chemistry and stuff acting which isn’t an issue here

Got to episode 21 and I’m bored and will be dropping it. I think the intensity of first episode not being carried through was mistake and I’m not wholly convinced by the chemistry of the leads
