I dropped these too. Plus vincenzo. I feel like the hype around these shows raised my expectations too high. If…
I totally agree that the hype may have ruined them for me. If I hadn't been so ready to love it, I probably would have enjoyed True Beauty a little bit more. I think I've learned to set my expectations more appropriately since then! My faves that I saw are Goblin, Black, Another Miss Oh, and Fated to Love You. That's four; I think I must have miscounted before. I can't understand how people could dislike those dramas.
I don't drop dramas often, but I have a few that I just couldn't stick with. WWWSK, My Love From the Star, and True Beauty were three quite popular titles I dropped. I am also surprised and sad to see five of my favorite dramas on this list!
Are you trying to kill me? Seeing Jang Hyuk, Song Seung Heon, and Gong Yoo with beards is the quickest way for me to have a heart attack! But thank you for posting this. Facial hair gives men a true sense of masculinity. I don't understand how some women don't like it.
I am shocked at how few romance dramas are tagged with a childhood connection! I've always considered it a cliché that writers often shoehorned into the end of a drama to add a twist.
My first K-drama was years ago with Coffee Prince, followed by Boys Over Flowers. I got hooked mostly because I was tired of the American romantic tropes, where the leads end up making out by episode 2 and in bed by episode 4. With no tension, there's no reward!
Tip for newbies: Give a drama at least two or three episodes before casting judgment. By episode three, the tone is usually set for the show, and you can safely decide if you want to invest more time.
