The last third of the episode was definitely the best, even though I know it's the first bit with all the big reveals that's supposed to be the exciting part.

This episode felt a great deal like its purpose was to get everyone lined up and in place for whatever actual action is meant to happen in the next episode. Yes, we got Yue Qi and Yue Jin Zhao's reunion and her declaration that he's definitely not like a big brother to her, but it really didn't seem like anything noteworthy happened.

I'm happy for Ju Shi Fang, even though I still worry he's going to end up with an avoidable death just to make viewers feel sad and for Shuo Xuan to learn an important lesson about feelings. It was also good to see Yue Qi taking responsibility for herself and working for what she wants instead of expecting someone to hand it to her.

It's good to see Yue Jin Zhao putting some thought into the sort of relationship he and Yu Qi actually have, and the ways in which they have limited each other as well as supported each other. I hope Ju Shi Fang doesn't end up dying later.

Oh, what a nice twist. I wonder if there will be more twists of this nature to further complicate matters between Yue Jin Zhao and Yue Qi (not to mention the rest of the companions).

I find myself increasingly curious about Bian Luo Huan's people, and what they even do with themselves when they're not meddling in Yue Qi' and Yue Jin Zhao's business. The development between Xian Qing and Luo Zhao Yan is sweet.

Ah! So many characters making discoveries about each other! What a fun thing to watch. I can't help but feel bad for Ju Shi Fang though.

Xu Kai's acting continues to be the series' main strength, but in this episode I would say Zhou Zhan also begins to shine, which is good since I'd started to wonder when his character would have something to contribute.

Learning more about Yue Qi's origins is interesting, but I'm particularly curious about how Yue Jin Zhao fits into the story. I hope we find out more about that soon.

Yue Qi is less irritating in this episode, and the emotional development between Luo Zhao Yan and Xian Qing is getting more interesting.

If Bian Luo Huan doesn't want people to think he's a villain, he really has to stop doing such shady-seeming things all the time. Also, has Yu Qi ever tried thinking before? It might be a novel experience for her.
