I don't blame you. She also tends to portray a lot of Mary Sue type characters so that puts me off as well. Imagine…
Better to watch Mary Sues than airheaded damsels in distress. LOL. They contribute nothing, only stereotypes. But what makes me laugh is that most male characters in Chinese dramas in particular are Gary Stus but women (yes) tend to watch them without a problem. LOL.

I think she doesn't do bad with ppl from her generation and good directors
It's the only good performance she has.

In Snowfall there is 17 years difference between the leads, with the male being the oldest. There are few comments about it even in the hot Chinese social networks. But here, Reddit, etc. there are people suffering because Tang Yan is older than her co-star by 8 years. LOL. It's a problem only if the woman is the older one, I get it.

The funny thing is that these are comments mostly made by women. Just accept that your bullshit about empowerment and sorority among women is a myth.

Title Snowfall
What a disgusting age difference here. Even the filters don't help Gao Wei Guang look any younger. LOL. It's 17 years difference but the audience doesn't necessarily mind if the man is the older one. LOL. I remember people (mostly women) were complaining on different sites about how bad it is that Tang Yan is eight years older than Liu Xue Yi.

Nice double standards, women have done it again.
