I think the reason also depends on what certain big name content creators about cdramas post about on English platform. So far on TT I know while most users are positive, there's one creator with a big following who has only been criticising the stylistic choices, and all the comments blindly agree, saying "ugh I don't wanna watch this drama anymore after seeing your video."

I think because Bingchang stole a love thread, she knows there's a god realm with inexplicable things, so she thinks it's really her past life. That said I think they deliberately made it vague so it could be interpreted as either.
