Partway thru ep 3 and decided to drop. The ML and his friends all seem so petty and pathetic. If I wanted to watch a romance with guys like this I'd just go hear my friends' love stories irl lmfao
I'm on ep 4 rn and so far it's not disappointing, with some interesting points raised. In fact, I really like the commentary (when they voted to keep the game going or not) made on how whether or not if a choice's results are fair if the results are super close. Plus that people with vested personal interests who even benefit from advice try to rig the vote. Very interesting.
IF YOU are scared away by all the haters who give it low scores, don't be - also remember that there are so many…
blaming it on anime & Cdrama fans while we all know that most of the hate is from either transphobes or the paid-off Korea media's anti-T.O.P. agenda is certainly an interesting claim to make
I think it's a different mindset between some viewers but I never cared for the "and they got married and lived happily ever after with their kids" ending that people always seem to need to watch for closure.
I think it's pretty obvious that Miaomiao and Ziqi/Fu Zhou are reunited at the end of the drama. Despite censorship they were able to show a lot of intersection with the real world again. Context clues (familiar characters, and the novel dedication, and Miaomiao's smile) should be enough to confirm to the viewer that they're meeting each other in the real world. Additionally, previously in the series Miaomiao's memory return was foreshadowed as she lost it twice but was able to remember Ziqi, and he said that she saved his world twice. Everything comes in threes, after all...
I do hate the "it was all a dream" part but again, they have no choice due to censorship. Transmigration stories always have to undergo this change.
Pan Yue's dad searches the traitor general-to-be's house and is shocked that his Ripple token is only rank 2. This means there's someone high ranking, which also means that that person is in the royal family
likely someone else from the royal family as no one else could be ranked higher. which means likely one of the crown princes/princesses/emperor -> none shown, or empress
can someone explain why FL step mom dislikes her? Maybe I accidentally skipped that part but why does her stepmom…
Her stepmum was raised by a very conniving strict father who demanded that his daughters seek power at all costs and that all people were pawns to power. She loved a man in the past but because he didn't approve of him, he tortured the man and banished him, crippling him. As a result, she became more warped and would constantly do worse and worse things to keep her position.
In this case, she had actually murdered the FL's mother (while her dad encouraged her to do this, she was reluctant at first but finally did it so she isn't innocent) to take over the "main wife" role (a man can only have one legitimate wife and multiple concubines who are "lesser").
FL's identity (as Jiang Li) is a legitimate daughter, and gets in the way of the stepmum's own daughter, who is also a legitimate daughter. But they are now competing for the same assets as they are both legitimate. In the stepmum's mind, all her hardwork and conniving is for nothing if the FL can come back as a legitimate daughter.
