Ok so this is kinda hard to explain . . . Basically according to the novel FL is a journalist and the ML is a very mysterious but famous businessman (mysterious by he's famous but no one really knows much about him). In the beginning of the novel FL realizes her bf cheated on her, and mistakenly(spoiler keyword) thought the ML is her bf's new gf's uncle, so the FL decides to get close to the ML in order to get revenge from her (ex) bf. However FL ended up actually falling in love with ML. That's why the original novel's title is called “错撩" which basically means she accidentally "hooked up" the ML.
Can I ask something? So, Forever and ever 2 is a continuation of forever and ever 1 ? By right, Forever and ever…

The ending is not really black or white, I would say the ending made a good conclusion, but not much "sadness" nor extreme "happiness", if that answers your question
