hmmm, seirei no moribito is a historical? it's a fantasy counterpart culture, so much more of a fantasy action/adventure…
he worked it perfectly for how his character is intended to be portrayed, but I am overall disappointed with how his character is written (esp compared to anime's & book's emperor). his actions in the drama are counterproductive, so I found it befuddling & don't understand why they opted to write the emperor this way. it might be the only major change in the live-action from uehashi's work that I don't agree with.
hmmm, seirei no moribito is a historical? it's a fantasy counterpart culture, so much more of a fantasy action/adventure in a fictional universe/alternate east asia, for sure, but I wouldn't label it as historical.
love this as a live-action adaptation, tho (even despite the emperor being a ridiculous pain)
❤
not among the main characters. the wife & husband suspect each other but neither of them are having or have had an affair. the wife does have a friend who's in love with her, but she doesn't get involved with him in that way. her children come first & she wants to keep her family intact. I've watched all of the presently subbed eps & saw most of the penultimate ep raw, so I strongly believe neither will end up cheating.
there are two very minor characters who cheat on their spouses, tho.
I still feel like I have so many 2016 dramas left to watch tho...

I am feeling the hype on this. if I had the time I know I wouldn't complain but every weekday I am stuck…
oh I already started this the day df aired it. I meant that the eps come out too quickly for me to keep up! I want to keep with everyone but it's overwhelming with my schedule.
I am feeling the hype on this. if I had the time I know I wouldn't complain but every weekday I am stuck working & studying & exam-cramming I fall two eps further behind, & weekends are no better. the frustration of this hurts: gpa or tpwy binge? the temptation is real.
sleepeeer hit is another name for juhan shuttai! maybe it wasn't considered as marketable to foreign audiences compared to other dramas, but at least nogi akiko won for best screenplay & doi nobuhiro won for best director under the personal prize category.
I love this actress but it's sad that her appearance is nearly always used for jokes because she doesn't meet a beauty standard. I was glad to see lee do yeon in That Affair Drama, but they had to pull a 'nice figure; ugly face' crack. really, drama? really?
I looked at this writer's watch list and it's terrible... She gives so low scores... Why would you recommend…
I rated nobuta wo produce a 7 & gave reply 1997 a 7.5, & both are favorites that I readily recommend, so... we all rate based on different criteria. I honestly don't think happysqueak would recommend something that she doesn't like.
yook sung jae & seo in guk. I can tell which of the two I'm looking at, but I've always thought the resemblance between them is so strong that I'm surprised they're not related.
I don't think I have ever cried over anything like I did with 1 litre of tears. especially during the episode where the "one litre of tears" line comes in, I lost it. that drama hit me hard.
mulan is one of my all-time disney faves---probably in my top five, if I cared to think about the rest of my favorites & compare them. but I wouldn't be surprised if I rank it at #2 following aladdin. to this day I still bust out the ost & even send random "I'll make a man out of you" lyric texts.
I'm unsure what to expect from the upcoming disney live-action since the ones they have come out with recently are hit or miss or just plain mediocre, but hopefully by the time it's released I'll have watched the 2009 cmovie. I hear it's pretty good.
goblin is a kim eun sook drama, so I expect it to be overhyped; still, want to check it out for the actors, ha ha. I do think this week my wife will have an affair looks quirky & is one of my top picks, tho. I'm also hoping to catch weightlifting fairy, legend of the blue sea, & the man living in our house.
...so many dramas & literally not enough time ಠ╭╮ಠ
I read orange with what I remember being a constant feeling of anxiety over wondering what would become of kakeru at the end. watching the movie shouldn't feel as apprehensive since I know the (manga's) ending, unless they took the liberty of changing major details... I hope not, lol. I don't want to be a sobbing mess.
I can see gnsk maybe working out as a live action, but it could go either way. I didn't read far into the manga, altho the anime is super hilarious---& way more hilarious than I expected. I think most of the show's fun is partly due to a reversal of expectations that arise from the satirization, so there is this bit of freshness to it, too. I'd do anything for a second season of the anime, but if japan ever wants to try it as a live action then I'm down to check it out.
hell yes to a reunion for age of youth's cast! that drama deserves a season two, but the women are awesome & I would love to see them come together again. that goes for their landlady, too.
more incentive for me to check out roaring currents & coin locker girl, I guess, ha ha. I hadn't previously heard of a hard day or blind, but they sound interesting! I've only seen park bo gum in reply 1988 so far, altho love in the moonlight & I remember you are on my ptw list. I've heard some good things about his acting in the latter, especially.
honestly, these all sound interesting & look amazing, but now that I know a sequel for NIF is coming I really want to hop on it. I hear so many great things about this drama --- even tho you don't need to see the first to watch the second, it's the perfect excuse to make time for it.
