Dare I say it? I think the sequel to Dr. Romantic is actually better. Opposed to their predecessors the new main leads might not start off being as charming but there is a lot of depth to their characters & the problems they face are realistic.
Like its predecessor, Dr. Romantic 2 thrives off the character driven story. Lee Sung Kyung adds a lot of charm & quirkiness to the drama. Ahn Hyo Seop's character has a strong sense of justice & shows real character development as the drama progresses.
I needn't stress much about the returning cast as they remain loveable as ever, especially the determined Kim Sa Bu portrayed by Han Seok Kyu. Yang Se Jong's cameo appearances adds some nostalgic flavour along with fleeting discussions on/with Hyun Jin and Yeon Seok's characters.
The character of Park Min Guk is interesting as he seems to be in a constant limbo between dealing with a traumatic incident in the past and struggling to do the right thing.
The OSTs such as "That's All" by Heize and "My Love" by Baekhyun are a definite upgrade to anything its predecessor had to offer.
#RomanticDoctorTeacherKim2 is heartwarming, heart-wrenching, quirky and of course, romantic in more ways than one. In my opinion it deserves to go down as one of the best dramas of 2020.
