He abandoned her bc she was kidnapped by barbarians and initially he made the journey to rescue her but along the way some men told him she was probably already defiled. The men suggested he just marry someone else. After he heard that he basically made up his mind that he could not endure her shame and decided to return home without her. He told everyone back home that he was robbed (he lied) 💀😭 basically leaving her for dead. Sigh he’s really pathetic.

Some say there was adultery in part 2 even though there wasn’t… her husband abandoned her and left her for dead and the ML was the one who helped her. They hugged each other and almost kissed once + were very sweet with each other as she was taking care of him (that’s it) The husband also knew she would never love him the same way she loved the first man and he married her anyways For me he stopped being her husband the moment he abandoned her. So idk what to tell you.

Lol thank goodness you went in with low expectations... that wasn't the case for me since it was hyped up to be one of the best kdramas of 2023 and turned out to be the exact opposite and worse.
For me (and many others) this is a very poorly written / executed drama and the actors could not even make this bad script good (which is saying a whole lot) 💀
There's an old saying that says if you want a good drama start with a good script. The process of production is long and tedious and a lot tends to get lost in translation. Therefore, even with a stellar cast, the likelihood is that a poor script will only get worse during production. Additionally, a good actor can give a good performance, but that’s not enough to make it a good drama. This was the case of BWS, in my opinion he stole the show – had the best backstory, character arc etc. (I mentioned all this in my review btw!) but that was not enough for me to give this drama a rating it does not deserve.
Strong Girl Nam Soon failed to live up to it's name (literally) considering she was supposed to be the main star / lead and was barely in the drama any at all. The show revolved more around the mom, grandma and Ryu Shi Oh considering they were only supposed to be side characters.
This drama is nothing more than overhyped gibberish. It is essentially a nonsensical parody of SWDBS trying to pass off as some critically acclaimed kdrama. Respectfully, the writer needs to be stopped and this franchise needs to end. She had years to improve her writing and did not. This was an epic fail and a huge waste of time imo.
Since you are not finished with the drama I'll just say this... enjoy it all you want and possibly can but that won't change my stance / opinion. Sorry not sorry 😭
